Chapter 94 All the filth, she carried alone!
"What truth?" After asking this, Penelope felt she was simply talking nonsense. What else could the truth be, but the grim reality of Corona's death.
Indeed, after Lola let herself in, she gracefully sat down on the sofa and calmly began, "The truth about Corona's suicide!"
"Sister, there were so many people by the cliff last night, I certainly couldn't tell the truth. But now, I can tell you everything you want to know."
Lola glanced at the coffee table, just in time to see Penelope's phone placed on it. Confirming that she wasn't recording, she then opened her mouth with a malicious smile.
"Sister, to tell you the truth, those four men were the ones I found to serve Corona for Linda!"
"Corona, was driven to death by Linda and me!"
"When Linda and I led Devon over, those men were pulling up their pants by the edge of the cliff, in a state of utter disarray. Afterwards, those men quietly told Linda and me that Corona had jumped into the sea to commit suicide, in extreme humiliation."
"Sister, do you know how Linda and I dealt with those men? We said, don't leave a piece of good flesh on Corona! You said, how could a woman who just lost her child bear such humiliation and torment?"
"Oh, sister, last night, the blood on the cliff, it was all Corona's. Tell me, how intense must they have been to shed so much blood?!"
"Lola!" Penelope was so furious that her eyes were bloodshot, almost grinding her silver teeth to pieces.
However, Lola seemed oblivious to the anger in her heart, she continued to speak with immense satisfaction, "Sister, do you know why I wanted to tell you the truth?"
"Because, I just enjoy seeing you in pain, seeing you in unbearable agony, it makes me, Lola, happy!"
"Lola, I'm going to kill you, to avenge Ethan and Corona!"
Penelope could no longer contain her intense hatred, she rushed over, ready to fight with Lola.
However, her broken body was no match for Lola!
With a slight force on her hand, Lola pushed her hard onto the ground.
Penelope was not willing to let Lola go so easily. However, she hadn't taken any painkillers and her stomach hurt so much that she didn't even have the strength to get up from the ground.
Seeing Penelope in such agony, a look of almost malicious delight twisted Lola's face.
"Sister, with your frail body, you should give up on the idea of seeking revenge for anyone! You should go underground sooner, to reunite with Corona, and your short-lived son!"
Lola slowly rose from the sofa, exuding an admirable nobility. As she walked past Penelope, she deliberately kicked her in the face.
"Sister, if you were dying too slowly, I wouldn't mind sending you off again!"
"Bang!"
The door of the small apartment was slammed shut, and Penelope still lay on the ground like a pile of mud.
She didn't know whether she had bitten through something out of hatred, or was simply coughing up blood. The bright red blood kept flowing from the corner of her lips.
She hated it!
But her broken body couldn't even muster the strength to avenge Corona and Ethan.
Letting people like Lola be so arrogant, she couldn't face Corona and Ethan even in death!
"Penelope, what did you think was the most important thing about living in this world?"
Penelope tilted her head in thought, "Be happy! In one's lifetime, being happy is what matters."
What did Corona say back then?
She said, "Clean, right? Come clean, leave clean, loyal to one person in life, the soul is untainted by dust."
Penelope clamped her hand over her mouth tightly, but she couldn't control the sob that escaped.
Corona was cheerful and optimistic in character, yet particularly conservative in certain aspects.
Her body, she had wanted to give to the man she deeply loved in her entire life. However, she was violated by those disgusting men. She must have felt that she was no longer clean.
Therefore, she was in such unbearable pain that she didn't even have the strength to continue living.
Her body was already tainted, she could not allow those unfounded accusations to be pinned on her anymore, staining her noble soul with dust.
So, even though she was no longer there, she wanted Zackary to testify for her, to clear her name of disgrace.
Trembling, she reached out and grabbed the cell phone on the coffee table. Penelope then dialed Zackary's number.
She had waited for quite a while before she heard his voice, casual yet tinged with impatience, "What is it?!"
"Mr. Spencer, you promised me that you would testify for Corona. I hope you can prove her innocence and let her leave this world with a clean slate,"
"Penelope, you seemed a bit forgetful."
Penelope didn't understand what Zackary meant by his words, but she knew he would definitely explain, so she didn't ask further, quietly waiting for his next words.
"Penelope, I did promise to help you prove Corona's innocence, but the premise was that you satisfy me."
Zackary's voice, tinged with a chilling disdain, "Penelope, I am very dissatisfied with you!"
Dissatisfaction tormented her for an entire day!
Penelope was so angry that she wanted to curse, but she needed help, so she suppressed her anger and spoke, "Mr. Spencer, what exactly should I do to satisfy you?"
Truly, she didn't want to get close to this heartless man anymore, but her Corona was so good, she was the best girl in the world, how could she let her leave this cold world with the stigma of a murderer!
All the stigma, all the filth, she, Penelope, bore it all alone!
"Nine o'clock tonight, Lust Club 2208 private room, find me!" Without any hesitation, Zackary hung up the phone cleanly and decisively after he finished speaking.
Penelope knew that there was definitely no good news when Zackary asked her to come over.
But in order to completely get rid of Corona, and to solidify Linda's guilt as a murderer, making her pay the price she deserved, she still decided to go to Lust Club to find Zackary.
She also knew that her behavior was really quite bad, low and cheap. However, if she could use her broken body to make those she hated most pay a price, it was worth it!
Unable to bear the pain in her body after all, Penelope still bought some painkillers.
She had a simple meal in the evening, put on a thicker coat, and then headed to the Lust Club.
She felt that she had been particularly afraid of the cold recently. Even indoors, with the air conditioning on and wearing heavy clothes, she would still shiver from the cold.
The taxi driver had parked the car across the street from Lust Club, waiting for her to walk that distance, feeling as if she was covered in a layer of ice.
In the end, it was just that my luck had run out.
She suppressed the tremble in her body and walked to the booth designated by Zackary.
The door of the private room was not locked, with a gentle push, it was already open.
Upon seeing the situation inside, Penelope instantly understood why Zackary had insisted on her coming to Lust Club.
Because, Lyman was also there.
