Chapter 209 Lola, let's break up!

"Yeah, I don't like cripples!" Aliya did not deny the words she had said in the past.

She disdainfully glanced at the chubby Clayton, "But bad legs can possibly be cured! Some people with bad brains, however, are beyond saving!"

Aliya made a face at Clayton, "Clayton, you big dummy! You can't even do a simple addition like one plus one, yet you have the nerve to laugh at Ethan! I'm going to tell Zoya and the others how stupid you are!"

Zoya was the little goddess in Clayton's heart. Upon hearing that Aliya was going to tell Zoya about his foolish act, he became so anxious that he burst into tears.

Seeing Clayton crying over trivial matters as if the sky had fallen, Aliya despised him even more.

She sincerely walked up to Ethan, "Ethan, you're really amazing! I'm sorry, I shouldn't have spoken to you like that earlier, you're super great! Can you teach me math in the future? I find math so difficult, I can never seem to learn it, I'm so stupid."

"Alright." Ethan hadn't expected a child to take the initiative to play with him, and he was taken aback. After a long while, he finally spoke softly.

Seeing Ethan quietly agree, she was overjoyed. She took the initiative to hold Ethan's little finger, making a pinky promise, not allowing him to go back on his word.

When her mother quietly took her home, she still sneaked over to Ethan and said, "Ethan, your dad is so handsome! He's super awesome!"

After hearing Aliya's words, Ethan couldn't help but sneak a glance at Zackary.

He had always known that the person was very impressive, it's just that, the person didn't like him.

With these thoughts, the light on Ethan's face dimmed significantly in an instant.

The nanny knew Zackary, she didn't dare to bother him holding Ethan, and hurriedly wanted to take Ethan from his arms.

However, Zackary did not hand Ethan over to her. He continued to hold him, step by step, walking towards Xavier's courtyard.

Just as they were about to reach the entrance of Xavier's courtyard, Zackary suddenly spoke in an extremely awkward manner, "Ethan, I'm sorry."

Ethan abruptly lifted his face, looking at Zackary in disbelief. That man, the one who completely disregarded him, was apologizing to him?

Zackary saw Ethan staring at him in shock, he thought that he was unwilling to accept his apology. He gave a self-deprecating smile, then spoke, "Ethan, I know, I've hurt you, I have no right to ask for your forgiveness, but I sincerely apologize to you."

"Ethan, I will make it up to you, I won't let you... I won't let you and your mother suffer any more."

Father and son stared at each other for a long time, until Zackary finally uttered the words that had been weighing on his heart for so long, "Ethan, I am your father."

Ethan's eyes suddenly widened. He had grown accustomed to being called a bastard by Zackary. Now, he was suddenly willing to admit that he was his father. He had a strong, dreamlike sense of unreality.

The most shocked person had to be the nanny.

The nanny had always known that Xavier was trying to matchmake Everett and Penelope. Unexpectedly, Ethan turned out to be Mr. Zackary's child! She needed to remind Xavier not to play cupid recklessly anymore!

"What...what did you say?" Ethan pinched himself quietly. It hurt, so he wasn't dreaming. He must have misheard then.

"Ethan, I am your father, I owe you and your mother an apology. I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you both."

Ethan felt truly spineless. That person had bullied him and his mother so much in the past, he should have defiantly told him that he didn't need such a bad person to be his father. But he didn't say these words, instead, his tears fell uncontrollably.

He really, really missed his dad.

Even if he had sacrificed him for others, let him die, he had never truly hated him.

"You...you don't hate me anymore?" Ethan cautiously asked.

Seeing Ethan's cautious and careful appearance, Zackary felt a sudden pang in his heart, and before he knew it, his eyes were already red.

This little brat, really held no grudges.

Such a good child, yet all he brought to him was endless harm.

Although he had never truly wished for his death, even on the edge of that cliff, he would rather have died himself, all to protect Penelope's child, even if he was considered a bastard.

Just that, he owed Lola his life. The situation was too critical at that time, he had no other choice but to choose Lola.

"Ethan, you're a good boy," Zackary wanted to ruffle Ethan's hair, but it was his first time doing such a gesture, too stiff and uncomfortable, like pressing on Ethan's head.

Feeling the gentle caress of his palm, Ethan's eyes were once again filled with tears.

Seeing other children's fathers affectionately rubbing their heads, he was really envious.

Today, that person also rubbed his head.

He didn't need to envy others anymore.

However, while other children could call out 'Dad' without any hesitation, he dared not call that man 'Dad'.

He could only awkwardly lower his little face, "Don't bully my mom anymore."

"I will protect her," Zackary whispered, as if making a promise.

The thoughts of children are much simpler than those of adults. Ethan knew that Zackary had been really bad in the past, but if his father could change from a bad person to a good one, he still hoped to have both a father and a mother, just like other children.

"Can I... Can I call you Dad?" Ethan asked nervously.

Zackary held Ethan, his son, tightly, wanting to call him 'Dad'. He was so terrified, he wasn't really human before!

"Dad..." Ethan felt that Zackary must have tacitly agreed, so he began to speak in a soft and apprehensive voice.

He had... a dad!

Something seemed to occur to Ethan, his little face looking even more uneasy, "But, you're getting married! If you get married, you can't be my dad!"

Zackary knew that what Ethan was talking about was him and Lola.

During this period, he was completely focused on Penelope and indeed forgot to deal with the matters between him and Lola.

If he had decided to be with Penelope, he would have had to make things clear with Lola.

"I won't marry anyone else!" Zackary declared with absolute certainty, "If I were to marry, it would only be with your mother."

Upon hearing Zackary's words, a radiant smile finally appeared on Ethan's face.

Between father and son, a brief exchange had already established a certain understanding. Zackary would handle his affairs with Lola, and if he behaved well, Ethan had decided to help him win back his mother.

After leaving Xavier's place, Zackary received a call from Lola.

She said that she had made pastries by herself and was waiting for him to taste them together at Silverybay Estates.

He had something to tell her. After hanging up the phone, he went straight to Silverybay Estates.

As soon as Zackary entered the living room, Lola greeted him with a charming smile, "Zackary, I just learned how to make durian pastries. Try them and see if they're good. If you like them, I'll make them for you every day."

Zackary let go of Lola's hand without a trace, "Lola, let's break up!"
