Chapter 365 Mr. Murray, I Married You!
Lyman was so excited that he almost clapped his hands raw, "Beautiful sister, please say yes to the handsome brother! Marry the handsome brother! Marry him! Marry him!"
Zackary was so angry that veins were bulging on his forehead. His gaze, sharp as an ice blade, was fixed on Penelope's small face. His demeanor suggested that if she dared to say she would marry him, he would immediately tear her to pieces.
Thinking of her grandson's mother, who could never become her daughter-in-law, Cornelia couldn't help but feel a touch of sadness.
However, Everett was also a child she had watched grow up. She could tell that he genuinely liked Penelope, and she hoped that he could get what he wished for.
She quietly wiped away the tears at the corner of her eyes, and opened her mouth with a radiant smile, "Penelope, please say yes to Everett, he really is a good boy!"
"Mommy!"
"What are you shouting for! Don't disturb Everett proposing to Penelope!"
Zackary was furious. His own mother was helping others to compete with him for a woman. How could he not be angry!
He continued to stare at Penelope with a gaze as sharp as a knife. Seeing her actually reach out and voluntarily take Everett's hand, his heart completely froze into ice, and then shattered in an instant.
"Penelope, you dared to accept Everett's proposal!"
"Zackary, shut up! If you won't let Penelope marry Everett, are you going to marry Everett yourself?! What on earth did I do to deserve a child like you!"
"Penelope, marry me, become my bride, will you?" Everett asked devoutly again after a long silence without a response from Penelope.
Looking at the man kneeling on one knee in front of her, unparalleled in nobility yet full of sincerity, Penelope's gaze couldn't help but become somewhat dazed.
It seemed as if she had seen her Zack again.
He knelt on one knee and proposed to her twice.
Penelope, would you marry me?
How could it not be good!
In her lifetime, all she ever wanted was to be Zack's bride, to grow old with him, and to be able to nestle in his arms, whimsically acting spoiled and willful.
Just that, her Zack had died, and she too, had let go of her persistence, betraying her own heart.
Her fingertips trembled slightly, then, she firmly grasped Everett's hand, her posture resolute, as if she was bidding a final farewell to the past snow, moon, wind, and flowers.
"Alright, Mr. Murray, I'll marry you!"
Penelope tried hard to muster a brilliant smile for Everett, but as her lips twitched, she felt more like crying. All she could do was murmur softly, as if making a promise, "Mr. Murray, I will try, to be good to you."
You provided me with a reliance, you sheltered me from wind and rain, I, Penelope, would then treat you with all my heart, to repay you.
"Penelope, what did you say?" Everett asked incredulously. He, a man of such toughness, had an obvious tremor in his voice, as if he was scared, as if it was just a hallucination he had just experienced.
"Mr. Murray, I married you!"
"Penelope!"
Everett could no longer contain his joy, he abruptly pulled Penelope into his arms, his lips, uncontrollably, landed on hers.
They, they actually kissed in front of him!
A crimson fury filled Zackary's eyes, he wished he could rush up immediately and separate them. However, before he could even take a step, Cornelia had already had Jayden forcibly restrain him, and even dragged him out of the sickroom.
The door to the ward was tightly shut, he could no longer see how close Penelope and Everett were. Yet, the pain in his heart was only increasing, not decreasing.
What should he do to stop his heart from hurting so much?
Seeing Zackary in such a state of pain that he was almost mad, Cornelia let out a heavy sigh that seemed to last a lifetime, and holding onto Jayden's arm, she headed towards the outside of the hospital.
My son always fell in love with the wrong men. When on earth will this ever end!
Cornelia was so sad!
Zackary wanted to kick open the tightly closed ward door in front of him and pull Penelope harshly into his arms.
However, thinking of the scene where they had been kissing passionately just a while ago, he ultimately didn't have the courage to kick open the door in front of him.
He heavily punched the wall beside him, blood gushing out, yet he was completely oblivious.
He turned around in loneliness, walking like a zombie towards the staircase on the side.
His heart, it seemed, could no longer live...
Penelope and Everett didn't kiss for long, it was almost like a dragonfly touching the water, and they separated after just one kiss.
Lyman was still giggling and clapping, "Pretty sister, handsome brother, kiss, kiss..."
Thinking of the scene where she was kissed by Everett and was seen by Lyman, Penelope felt quite embarrassed.
Seeing him constantly grinning like a fool, her heart ached as if it was being torn apart again.
She stepped forward and hugged him tightly, "Lyman, you need to get better soon!"
Only when things got better, could she leave with peace of mind!
The doctor had re-examined Lyman again, his body was very healthy, his brain, only had a slight concussion. Logically, the chances of becoming a fool were slim to none, yet, this was exactly what had happened to him.
Penelope asked the doctor how long it would take for Lyman to get better. The doctor said, perhaps a few days, perhaps a few months, or perhaps, he might never get better.
Thinking that Lyman might never get better, Penelope's eyes couldn't help but well up with tears.
He always said that he would protect her well. Now, in his current state, she would also protect him well.
Everett found out that earlier today, the son of driver Colson underwent a bone marrow transplant surgery. His son was extremely ill and the total cost was over a million dollars.
Colson had a seriously ill mother. His mother's illness had already exhausted all his savings. It was impossible for him to come up with so much money for his son's surgery.
There was only one possibility, Colson, after taking someone's money, deliberately caused this car accident.
The love of a father is as solid as a mountain. Colson was willing to sacrifice his own life to get the money for his son's surgery, which seemed very touching.
However, Penelope didn't feel any sympathy for him at all, let alone think he was great.
He loved his son, he was willing to sacrifice, but that did not mean, he had the right, to hurt others.
What Colson received should have been cash. Although no transfer records to him from others were found, Penelope could still guess that it was him who was instigated by Lola.
Dalton trusted Lola too much, and now, Lyman had ended up like this. She could hurt him easily if she wanted to. Fortunately, there was still Everett.
Everett had arranged many bodyguards outside Lyman's ward, so even if Lola wanted to harm him again, it wouldn't be so easy for her.
Everett had also arranged for more bodyguards around Ethan, he had also hired a top-notch lawyer, ready to sue Zackary at any time, he would absolutely not let Penelope lose custody of Ethan.
Everett's arrangements reassured Penelope greatly. She thought that life could finally start to regain its tranquility. Little did she know, the most severe disaster of her life was quietly approaching.
