Chapter 168 Penelope, you had the cleanest soul in the world.

When Kemp said this, Penelope was taking Ethan to find the USB drive he had thrown away.

Upon hearing his words, her little face instantly turned so pale that not a trace of color could be found.

Kemp always found a way to embarrass her to the point where she couldn't breathe.

Penelope's eyelids were half-lowered as she picked up the USB drive that had fallen on the edge of the green belt. Holding Ethan's hand, she headed towards Everett.

Before, she had never had any interaction with Everett, but she had heard rumors about this favored son of heaven.

Rumor had it that he had a severe case of mysophobia, and he shared the same illness with Dylan - an allergy to women.

When she approached Everett, she deliberately kept some distance from him.

Although she herself was guilt-free, what Kemp had said was truly unbearable. She was afraid that she would disgust Everett, who was already indifferent to women.

Everett had also seen Penelope standing next to him. Under the streetlight, her small face was shrouded in a hazy halo, but it was still terrifyingly pale.

She was wearing a large woolen coat, but such a large garment did not add any plumpness to her. Instead, it made her look even more frail.

Like a leaf swaying in the wind, a surge of strength could have crushed her into dust.

A deep frown creased Everett's brow, it was the first time he had felt such a heavy feeling in his chest due to a woman's figure.

Looking at her pale face, the heavy feeling in his heart grew even stronger. As if possessed, he stepped forward and gently grasped her hand, "Penelope, you're not dirty! I, Everett, trust my own eyes! I believe you have the cleanest soul in this world!"

Penelope's eyes widened in surprise, she looked at Everett in disbelief. She could never have imagined that this high and mighty man, after hearing those derogatory words about her, did not show any contemptuous expression towards her. Instead, he said that she had the purest soul in the world.

"Mr. Murray, thank you!" Penelope's heart fluttered softly, her voice choked with emotion she could barely contain. She sincerely said to Everett, "Thank you for believing in me!"

Thinking back to when Everett had driven her home, he had sent files from his laptop in the car. She then softly spoke to him, "Mr. Murray, my computer is upstairs, it's a bit of a hassle to go get it. Could I borrow your computer to play a video?"

"Alright." Everett turned his face, casting a casual glance at Mr. Dawson, the senior assistant. Understanding the unspoken command, Dawson turned around and quickly went to fetch a laptop from the Rolls-Royce parked nearby.

Penelope realized that her hand was still being held by Everett, and instinctively wanted to pull her hand away.

Everett felt Penelope's movement, inexplicably, he was somewhat reluctant to let go of these slightly cold, yet exceptionally soft little hands.

Therefore, he involuntarily tightened his grip on her hand, with a palpitation that even he himself couldn't understand.

Seeing Penelope still pulling away, he realized his own impropriety.

He, who had always been as immovable as a mountain, had a rare hint of blush on his face. Not wanting to be abrupt with Penelope, he quickly let go of his own hand.

Penelope had truly always been trying hard to keep her distance from Everett, not fawning over him, nor doing anything to annoy him.

But in Kemp's eyes, her interactions with Everett had completely turned into her subtly seducing Everett, playing a game of cat and mouse, and giving mixed signals.

The sarcasm in Kemp's eyes layered and spread, completely suppressing the original glow in his eyes under the shadow.

"Boss, the laptop is here!" Dawson excitedly brought the laptop to Everett, Penelope, of course, was too embarrassed to bother him to do it, she took the laptop from Dawson's hands, "Dawson, thank you! I can handle it myself."

Saying this, Penelope connected the USB drive to the computer and opened the video she had copied to the desktop.

"Penelope, you woman, what tricks are you trying to play again!" Kemp glared at Penelope's serene little face, grinding his teeth in anger.

"Mr. Hunter, I wasn't trying to pull any tricks. I just wanted to prove Ethan's innocence!"

Penelope turned the laptop around, positioning the screen right in front of Kemp.

"Mr. Hunter, when a person makes a mistake, they should admit it. If my Ethan is innocent, you must apologize to him!"

"Penelope!" Just as Kemp was about to step forward and wring the neck of this ignorant woman, he saw Pennie in the video.

Pennie bent down, her lips close to Ethan's ear, seemingly whispering something to him. However, the video was muted, so he couldn't hear what Pennie had said.

Pennie's words had clearly enraged Ethan. The next second, like an angry little beast, Ethan fiercely bit her hand.

The video was zoomed in very close, he could see every subtle expression on Ethan and Pennie's faces.

He clearly saw Pennie suddenly break free from Ethan's grip, dramatically leaning back with great speed.

While leaning back, he accurately found a stone pillar nearby and fiercely slammed the back of his head against it.

Ethan didn't even move his hand, let alone push her.

Kemp incredulously stared at the computer screen in front of him in the underground garage. All he could see was Pennie's back, so many details were unclear to him.

He saw Ethan bite Pennie, so when she suddenly leaned back and fell against the stone pillar, he naturally assumed that it was Ethan who had pushed her down.

Unexpectedly, this was another show directed and performed by Pennie herself!

He had already gotten his marriage certificate with Pennie, she was his wife, and he should have unconditional trust in his wife. But the trust she gave him was a harsh slap in the face!

Kemp hadn't yet recovered from the severe shock when Penelope's voice, tinged with a hint of helpless sarcasm, faintly echoed in the air.

"Kemp, you must be very curious about what Pennie whispered in Ethan's ear,"

Saying so, Penelope played another recording.

"Ethan, Kemp despised you, and he despised your mother Penelope even more."

"Do you know why he despised your mother Penelope so much? Because Penelope was lowly, shameless, promiscuous, and flirtatious. Even a single glance from Kemp at her was enough to make him feel disgusted!"

In the recording, Pennie's voice slowly poured out, leaving Kemp shocked as if he had never known this world before.

He dared not imagine that the kind girl, whom he had devotedly protected, who had pledged to share life and death with him during his most difficult times, would use such a twisted and disturbing voice to utter such malicious words!

But indeed, it was Pennie's voice, and in the video, the one who deliberately bumped into the stone pillar like a spring, was also her.

Kemp hadn't yet recovered from the severe shock when Penelope's voice, heavy with coldness, rang in his ear, "Kemp, you've wronged Ethan, apologize to him!"
