Chapter 326 Mr. Zackary's Heart, Emptied
"Lyman, don't tell me again that Penelope has so-called late-stage stomach cancer! The doctor said that Penelope was faking it! I don't believe a single word of this nonsense!"
Lyman slowly turned his face away, a few tears he couldn't hold back had fallen, leaving his eyes somewhat red.
He looked at Zackary, sneering with a laugh, "Zackary, you trust Lola, you trust the doctor, but you just don't trust Penelope. Zackary, the woman you love, you don't trust her, how pathetic you are!"
After saying this, Lyman no longer wanted to deal with Zackary. He turned around and headed straight for his luxurious suite, crying his heart out.
Zackary stood there, stunned. It was clear from what the doctor had said - Penelope had bribed them, and that's why they had helped her deceive him, telling him she had late-stage stomach cancer.
He didn't believe that Penelope would contract this damn disease, but thinking about the desolate tone in which Lyman had spoken those words, and his reddened eyes, he felt an inexplicable unease in his heart.
If Penelope had truly died, whom should he love, and whom should he hate! What would be the meaning of all his love and hate?!
Zackary suddenly felt, his heart, was empty.
No!
He didn't believe that Penelope would die!
Good people don't live long, but troubles linger for a thousand years. Penelope was a real trouble. I'm afraid even if Zackary was buried six feet under, she would still be alive and well!
He wouldn't fall for her tricks again, nor would he soften his heart for such a heartless, promiscuous woman!
At that time, Zackary hated Penelope so much that he gritted his teeth in anger. But when the day really came, as she withered away in his arms, he finally understood what it meant to be heartbroken and filled with regret.
Lola had originally planned to pretend to be weak in front of Zackary by falling into the water, hoping to gain his sympathy. However, after being "rescued" from the bathroom by several well-meaning female staff members, her intense embarrassment and anger made it impossible for her to act weak.
Thinking of her grand plans with Zackary that ultimately ended with her being slickly carried out of the bathroom by several women, she gritted her teeth for a long, long time.
In particular, when she received a call from Ruby, who told her that the scene of her framing Penelope was being live-streamed, and that the whole internet was dissing her, calling her a manipulative bitch, her teeth itched even more.
She instantly regained her full fighting spirit, desperately wanting to perform well in the upcoming reality show, to establish her beautiful and kind image, and to redeem herself.
After taking a hot bath, Penelope felt much more comfortable.
Although Zackary had barged into her room, causing her an unpleasant experience, she had to fulfill her duty of performing in the reality show for three days, given the hefty compensation paid by the production team.
Seeing that Penelope and Lola were both in good condition, the production team quickly proceeded to the next segment of the show.
Kissing contest.
The so-called kissing contest was where men and women from the same group would kiss each other. The pair with the shortest duration would not get lunch.
After the staff had read out the competition rules, Lola and Pennie were instantly overjoyed.
Kissing and such, they loved it the most, especially when it was from the man they loved, being held in his arms and kissed, just thinking about it was incredibly wonderful.
Moreover, Zackary and Kemp usually didn't want to do as they did. Now that the program team had provided them with such a great opportunity, they certainly had to seize it well.
At best, till the end of time!
After hearing the rules read by the staff, Penelope was immediately disheveled in the wind.
Her stomach was very weak, she didn't want to skip lunch, but to kiss Everett in front of so many people, and even in a competition, she really couldn't do it!
After weighing the two, she would rather not eat than kiss Everett.
Just as Penelope was considering opting out directly, Pennie's coquettish voice rang out in the air, "Director, I think this segment is really great! When do we start?"
"Kemp, I don't want to miss lunch! We must cooperate well and win the championship!"
Richard was about to say, "Start when you're ready," when he noticed that the gazes of Kemp and Zackary were as sharp as ice blades, all focused on his face.
The wide-open mouth of Richard froze instantly. He looked at these two Buddha statues with utter bewilderment. It seemed as if he hadn't done anything, he really didn't know how he had offended these two Buddha statues again.
These two great Buddhas were people he could not afford to offend in his lifetime. Naturally, Richard did not want any unpleasant misunderstandings between them. He tentatively spoke up, "Mr. Hunter, Mr. Spencer, do you have any objections to the competition rules?"
"It's okay, if you have any opinions, you can all express them. Our program team is very humane, we will take care of the guests' feelings and flexibly change the competition rules!"
Zackary stood in place, arrogantly silent. He had objections, but he would never admit that he couldn't bear to see Penelope and Everett kissing.
Kemp also had an opinion, he wanted to kiss Penelope, but he couldn't hurt Pennie's young soul.
Richard stood nervously on the spot, his smooth forehead almost drowned in cold sweat, while the two great Buddhas remained silent.
Just when he felt he was about to be crushed by the gaze of these two giant Buddhas, Lola finally stepped in to mediate.
"Richard, you're joking, how could Zackary have any objections! Zackary and I, we both love this competition. Zackary, my stomach is already growling with hunger, we can't fall behind, we won't be able to eat!"
"Zackary, in my heart, you are the best man. I believe, we are the true champions of today!"
Lola and Mr. Zackary started showing off their love. With a wave of his hand, Richard instructed the cameraman to quickly give them a close-up.
Lola glanced at Zackary, who was frozen in place. She knew he would never take the initiative to kiss her. Although she was shy, she had to take the initiative for this kiss that would last nearly an hour.
Lola stepped forward, she pleasingly grabbed Zackary's hand, gazing at him with affection.
"Zackary, I saw that my sister and Mr. Murray were both getting impatient. How about we get started quickly? It wouldn't be good if we upset my sister!"
Zackary's gaze, fiercely locked onto Penelope's small face. This woman, she actually couldn't wait to kiss Everett?! Who gave her the nerve!
Kemp's gaze, too, sharply swept over Penelope's small face.
He despised her, looked down on her, so why, upon hearing her eager to be with other men, would he feel so upset?!
Penelope looked utterly confused. Was Lola talking about her, Penelope?
When did she become so impatient to be like Everett?! She couldn't wait for this game to be cancelled!
"Ink, kiss me!" Pennie saw Kemp's gaze glued to Penelope's little face, and she immediately felt a hatred that made her teeth ache.
She desperately wanted to recapture Kemp's attention, she pressed herself directly into his arms, lips offered.
Seeing Pennie starting to make her move, Lola certainly couldn't be left behind. She closed her eyes, inching closer to Zackary, wanting to become the most passionate and enduring pair with him.
