Chapter 164 Fingers Linked to Heart, Every Inch Tortures the Heart.
Upon hearing Ethan's words, Pennie, who was just full of pride, her face instantly turned pale.
Just now, the words she whispered to Ethan were really too harsh.
If Kemp had really heard what she said, he would definitely think that even if Ethan had pushed her in anger, she deserved it!
More importantly, those harsh words would completely ruin her positive image in Kemp's mind!
Pennie gritted her teeth resentfully, the children of the Spencer family, indeed, each one of them was a cunning individual from a young age.
Dylan and Isabella had always been little prodigies in their circle since they were young. Although Zackary had suffered from severe autism, he was also a gifted genius, almost supernaturally intelligent.
Ethan, even if Zackary denied his lineage, the astonishingly brilliant blood of the Spencer family still flowed in his veins!
"Kemp, you heard everything I just said. I really didn't mean to speak ill of Penelope. I truly don't understand why he would frame me like this!"
Pennie had almost exerted all her strength in acting, "Kemp, I really don't understand, why such a small child could have such a complex mind! Kemp, I'm really upset!"
"Stop pretending!" Ethan unlocked his phone and began to search for the recording he had made earlier.
"Uncle Kemp, once you've listened to this recording, you'll see the true face of this wicked woman! She really is evil! She wants to harm me and mom! You can't fall for her tricks!"
Ethan moved quickly, he slid a few times and opened that recording.
That recording had a brief blank intro, it didn't go straight to the part where Pennie was speaking.
Ethan's phone hadn't yet emitted Pennie's voice when he felt a sudden pain in his hand. The phone he was holding was directly kicked away by Kemp.
Kemp was strong. When he kicked the phone out of Ethan's hand, he also hit his hand.
The area between his right thumb and index finger, known as the tiger's mouth, was so painful that it was numb. His eyes, dark as black grapes, were filled with tears.
He looked incredulously at Kemp, who stood before him like a dark lord of the underworld. For a moment, he truly believed that he would never find his Uncle Kemp again.
He bent down, intending to pick up the phone that had fallen on the ground. However, before he could pick up his child's phone, Kemp's hard leather shoe had already ruthlessly stepped on it.
"Kemp, move your foot now!" Penelope didn't want Kemp to misunderstand Ethan like this. She forcefully pushed Kemp, and while he moved his foot, she quickly reached out to grab Ethan's phone.
Penelope couldn't lift her hand.
Because, Kemp had ruthlessly stepped on the back of her hand.
"Uncle Kemp, what are you doing! You can't hurt mom!"
The mind of a child is truly innocent. Ethan couldn't understand why Uncle Kemp, who always said he wanted to protect him and his mom, would mistreat his mom for a bad woman!
Ethan, with red eyes, wanted to push Kemp away, but his body was already weak, and he was a cripple. He couldn't even beat an ordinary three or four-year-old child, let alone push Kemp who was nearly 1.9 meters tall!
"Penelope, I didn't know what trick you were trying to pull again!"
In Kemp's voice, there was a chilling coldness. He looked down at Penelope with hatred, anger, resentment, and above all, contempt.
"But today, all the hardships you've endured, you brought them upon yourself!"
As he spoke, Kemp suddenly exerted force on his foot, and Penelope could almost hear the sound of her own bones shattering in her hand.
Every finger is connected to the heart, every inch is heart-wrenching.
"Mom!"
Ethan's tears, pitter-pattering down, he went madly pounding on Kemp, he wanted to bite him, but no matter how bad he was, he was Uncle Kemp who had raised him like a teacher and a father, he couldn't bite down.
"Uncle Kemp, let go now! You said you wouldn't let anyone bully mom, so why are you bullying her! Uncle Kemp, you're a liar!" Ethan questioned Kemp with all his might, but no matter how loud or painful his voice was, Kemp remained unmoved.
Kemp truly detested Penelope. She looked down on him, yet schemed relentlessly to entangle him. This two-faced woman had even caused him a month of unbearable pain due to her feigned death. It was simply a huge joke!
This lame child of hers, was she playing dead before?
No wonder there were no ashes in the graveyard!
It was ridiculous that he, like a fool, was singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" in front of that empty tomb.
He, Kemp, was completely played by her, running in circles. He, Kemp, was simply the most ridiculous joke in the world!
Extreme anger gave Kemp more strength in his feet. Penelope was in so much pain that she couldn't help but arch her body, but the pain was only increasing, not decreasing.
Finally, Kemp had had enough and coldly withdrew his foot.
What he stepped on was Penelope's left hand.
The bloody hand, accompanied by the forever lost little finger, looked unspeakably horrifying and pitiful.
Kemp's heart clenched, the pain was so intense that he could hardly breathe. He almost couldn't resist the urge to lift her hand, to see just how badly she was hurt. In the end, he forced himself to suppress this impulse.
He just dropped a sentence expressionlessly, "Penelope, this isn't over yet!" Then he opened the car door and got in the car holding Pennie.
The Lamborghini shot out like a bolt of lightning, the dust it kicked up clouding Penelope's eyes, blurring the image of Kemp in her memory.
"Mom..."
Holding Penelope's hand, Ethan's tears fell even harder. He was a brave little man, but even the bravest and strongest little man could feel sad.
"Mom, I'm sorry, it's all my fault! If it weren't for me, your hand wouldn't have been hurt! Mom, Ethan isn't a good boy."
"Mom, did it hurt really, really bad? Sob... Your hand bled so much, how could it not hurt?"
Penelope couldn't bear to see Ethan so upset. She lifted her uninjured hand and gently pinched his little face, "Ethan, Mommy is okay."
"The events of today were not Ethan's fault, I know. Ethan just missed Uncle Kemp too much. And Ethan was really great, he recorded what Pennie said. Even now, if Uncle Kemp doesn't want to listen to that recording, as long as we have it, we can prove our innocence."
"Mom, I'm sorry..."
Looking at Penelope's hand, Ethan still felt heartbroken, "Mom, can we go to Xavier's? Xavier is so capable, he definitely won't let mom continue to bleed."
"Ethan, I'm fine." It was so late, Penelope really didn't want to bother Xavier, "We have the ointment you gave us at home, Xavier. Mom can apply it herself when she gets back."
Moreover, Penelope had another task to do. The underground parking lot of the mall was under surveillance. She had to figure out a way to get hold of the surveillance footage from earlier.
"Mom, will I never be able to find my Uncle Kemp again? I think I've lost my Uncle Kemp." Ethan, pulling on Penelope's sleeve, suddenly spoke with immense sadness.
Penelope's heart tightened, for wasn't she the same, unable to find that Kemp who shared life and death with her!
Just as Penelope was about to say something to make Ethan feel better, a silver sports car abruptly stopped beside her.
