Chapter 5 Zackary Kills Their Baby

Penelope was suffering from advanced gastric cancer. Her blood quality was poor. But cancer normally wouldn't be transmitted through blood. With the hospital's operation, the cancer cells would be killed. So, Penelope could give Ethan a blood transfusion.

Lola was an orphan adopted by Penelope's parents. Three years ago, Lola found her parents, Dalton Hilliard and Chelsea Aitken. She immediately became the daughter of the richest family in Sea City. Lola became a noble lady.

But four years ago, Lola kidnapped Penelope's grandmother and threatened Penelope to leave Zackary.

In the end, Penelope gave in. But still, Lola killed Penelope's grandmother brutally. She and Ralph even imprisoned Penelope.

Penelope was overwhelmed by hatred. She said coldly, "Lola, what are you doing here?"

"I came to tell you some great news!"

With a twisted smile, Lola's pretty face suddenly became vicious. "Penelope, you got pregnant."

"What?" Penelope touched her belly in disbelief. She suffered a lot when she gave birth to Ethan. Her body was severely damaged. The doctor said it would be difficult for her to get pregnant again. Penelope didn't expect to have Zackary's child again.

It was nearly impossible to cure thalassemia. But with the umbilical cord blood of the baby in Penelope's belly, Ethan could have hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, which would cure his illness.

"I don't believe you! I'm going to ask Zack. I don't believe that he would kill our baby."

Penelope tried to get up, but Lola pressed her down. Lola raised a malicious smile. "Penelope, do you know why Zackary killed your baby?"

Before Penelope asked, Lola continued with a grim smile, "Because I told him I was upset that I lost my baby. Zackary felt sorry, so he killed your baby as revenge."

When the doctor said Penelope's abortion was caused by excessive blood donation, Zackary's eyes were instantly filled with pain. Seeing that, Lola was so resentful that her face was twisted.

Before, when Zackary got drunk, Lola made it look like they had sex. She lied that she was pregnant with Zackary's baby. When Lola pretended to lose the child, Zackary looked indifferent and calm. Lola was so jealous that Zackary got sad because of Penelope.

Lola was like a devil of hatred. But her smile grew bigger and more tender. "Penelope, I have some other news for you. How does it feel to suffer from advanced gastric cancer? Do you know how long you can live?"
