Chapter 61 Penelope, Shameless!

Indeed, one should eat something before taking painkillers.

After eating a few pastries and some appetizers, Penelope took a painkiller and indeed felt much better in her stomach.

Having rested for a while on the high stool, she picked up her bag and headed upstairs.

The room upstairs, though called a lounge, was actually a VIP suite. Although Penelope knew which room Kemp was in, getting in was not easy.

Kemp disliked her so much, he definitely wouldn't have opened the door for her.

Penelope had thought of many ways to persuade Kemp to open the door for her along the way. Unexpectedly, when she arrived at the door, she found that the door to his room was actually wide open.

Penelope symbolically knocked on the door, then tiptoed in.

"Kemp...."

Penelope called out softly, suddenly, she felt a shadow looming over her, realizing that Kemp had somehow already made his way in front of her without her knowing when.

Looking into Kemp's eyes, which held not the slightest bit of warmth, Penelope couldn't help but feel a bit sad again.

"But now was not the time to be sad," she cleared her throat, trying to sound cheerful, "Kemp, I came to see you today because I really have something important to discuss. Can I take a few minutes of your time so we can talk?"

Kemp didn't speak, he just stared at Penelope with inscrutable eyes. Once, those clear eyes held starlight, but now, only a cold gleam remained.

He didn't speak, so Penelope took his silence as consent.

Suppressing the bitterness in her heart, Penelope carefully took Ethan's notebook out of her bag.

She presented herself to Kemp with the side that carried Ethan's wish, "Kemp, I didn't lie to you, this really was Ethan's last wish, he hoped you could sing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' for him one more time."

"Kemp, I know, asking you to sing at Ethan's grave might seem a bit too much for you. But if you still remember Ethan and me, you wouldn't find it excessive. Back when we were in the dungeon, almost every night, you would sing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' to Ethan."

"Kemp, I beg you, could you sing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' for Ethan one more time? Just once, for the last time. If you agree, I will be grateful to you for the rest of my life."

"Dungeon?!" Kemp sharply caught the information in Penelope's words, "What dungeon?!"

"Kemp, we spent four years together in the dungeon. Ethan is the child of Zack and me. He was born six months after I was put in the dungeon. The three of us, we depended on each other for survival. You were very good to Ethan and me."

"You and Ethan got along so well. You taught Ethan how to count and read in the dungeon, even sang 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' to him. Kemp, don't you really have any memory of me and Ethan at all?!"

"Ha!"

Kemp's cool gaze grew colder, "Penelope, you really can make up any nonsense just to stick to me!"

"What a pity, you miscalculated. I, Kemp, did not lose my memory. Although it's been four years and some things are not as clear, I know that I was injured and recuperating in a convalescent home. It was Penny who stayed by my side, never leaving me!"

"Without you, there was no Ethan at all!"

Penelope looked at Kemp in disbelief, she never imagined that he could have a false memory.

Could it be that she was wrong before, Kemp wasn't amnesiac, but was hypnotized by someone with ulterior motives?

The media outside reported that the Kemp and Ralph brothers were respectful and harmonious. But she knew better than anyone else, just how many unconscionable things Ralph had done to Kemp.

If Kemp had really been hypnotized, he would have had no defenses against Ralph. If Ralph were to use his old tricks again, he would be defenseless!

Who on earth was trying to hypnotize Kemp?! What was their purpose?!

Deeply immersed in her own thoughts, Penelope's shoulder was suddenly gripped by Kemp. His strength was so great that she felt as if her shoulder was about to be crushed.

"Penelope, I've seen plenty of women like you, who will do anything to climb to the top! Unfortunately, I, Kemp, have no respect for shameless women like you! In my life, I only want Penny!"

"Kemp, I didn't!"

Penelope saw that Kemp had misunderstood her, she quickly defended herself, "Kemp, I swear, I absolutely had no improper thoughts about you!"

"I just considered you as a friend! I admit, you forgot about me and Ethan, I was upset, but just a little upset."

"Ethan is gone, and actually, I don't have much time left either. So, even if you forget about us, it's not that important to me anymore."

"I just wanted to fulfill Ethan's last wish, he was...he..."

Several days had already passed, but every time Penelope thought of the scene where Ethan was brutally thrown off the cliff, a suffocating pain would still seize her heart.

She opened her mouth, breathing heavily, making sounds, still somewhat difficult.

She turned her face away, not wanting Kemp to see the fragility and despair in her eyes, "Ethan...he suffered greatly when he left. He was thrown off a cliff, and after he fell...he was attacked by wild animals..."

At this point, Penelope could no longer continue, "Kemp, it's just that you don't remember Ethan and me now. If you did remember us, knowing about Ethan's death, how heartbroken you would be!"

"Actually, it's okay if you don't remember us, it's okay..."

Penelope sighed softly, at the very least, Ethan wouldn't be sad anymore since he and she had left this cold world one after another.

After a few sobs, Penelope finally regained her voice, "Kemp, please believe me, from beginning to end, I have never had any romantic feelings for you, let alone wanting to cling to you. Kemp, I really just want you to help me, to let Ethan leave in peace."

Kemp's fingers involuntarily tightened, his lips pressed together tightly. He had always been particularly annoyed by this woman who shamelessly clung to him, but now, hearing her say that she had no romantic feelings for him, he felt an indescribable discomfort in his heart.

Damn, it was annoying!

This woman, was blabbering nonsense again!

She almost got Pennie killed in order to get him, how could she possibly have no romantic feelings for him!

Seeing the immense anger clouding Kemp's eyes, Penelope feared that he would tear up Ethan's notebook just like he had torn up Ethan's photo last time. She quickly hid Ethan's notebook in her backpack.

She spoke cautiously, "Kemp, as long as you can fulfill Ethan's last wish, I will repay you in the next life, even if I have to be a cow or a horse."

"Still pretending?!"

Kemp didn't want to waste any more time with this annoying woman. Just as he was about to throw her out of the room, he suddenly felt his body starting to heat up abnormally.

He had been schemed against like this before, so he almost immediately understood that he was being plotted against.

Especially when he thought of the waiter who had just brought the glass of red wine saying it was from Ms. Sullivan, he was even more certain that tonight's scheme was Penelope's.

He had thought that the red wine was sent by "Miss Sugar", so he drank it without hesitation. Now it seems, it was this Ms. Sullivan!

In order to climb into his bed, she didn't hesitate to use such despicable means. She was really something!

"Bang!"

With a sudden force, Kemp violently threw Penelope onto the ground, and immediately, his body heavily pressed down on her.

"Fine, since you're so shameless, I'll do as you wish!"
