Chapter 490 Threw Penelope off the Roof!
Penelope was really, really worried about Ethan's situation.
Lola said, "Ethan jumped off the building. He was standing on the edge of the rooftop, and from the looks of it, he must have jumped."
Ethan must have been hurt extremely badly. His body was already much weaker than a normal child's. He had just had his stomach pumped, and yet he had to endure such pain. How miserable he must have been!
What was even more infuriating was that Ethan was already in such a bad state, unconscious and barely breathing, yet Lola still kept jabbing him with a needle. Later, she even held a sharp knife in her hand.
It was also unknown what kind of scars she had left on her beloved Ethan.
"Ethan..."
Penelope murmured Ethan's name softly, thinking of Ethan suffering alone, trapped in a sunless corner, her tears uncontrollably began to fall.
She desperately wanted to see Ethan.
She wanted to call Cornelia to take her to see Ethan, but she had heard from Lyman the night before that Cornelia had been staying close to Chelsea lately, fearing that something might happen before she woke up.
She wanted to call Lyman, but the vivid memory of the last time she and him were forcibly thrown out by Zackary's men stopped her. She needed his help, but she couldn't see her baby.
Penelope hugged her knees, like a homeless puppy, she had been outside the villa for a long time, but she still hadn't come up with a good plan to save her Ethan.
A cool breeze blew by, and some leaves from the forest fell on her head.
Penelope numbly caught a falling leaf, in her heart, was an unprecedented exhaustion.
Living, it was really tiring.
If there were a next life, she wished to become a gust of wind, a cloud, or even a fallen leaf. She didn't want to be a living person anymore.
This kind of heartache turned to ashes, the pain that pierced her heart, she really couldn't bear it.
Stiffly rising to her feet, Penelope's vision went black and she nearly fell to the ground.
She forcefully leaned against the wall beside her, preventing herself from falling down.
She knew that her time of death was imminent, within these few days. However, she had to keep fighting, fighting to see her Ethan one more time.
Penelope gathered her clothes around her, leaning against the wall, aimlessly making her way out of Silverybay Estates bit by bit.
The spring chill was biting, and the weeping willows by the roadside had already sprouted new buds. However, the howling wind still whipped Penelope's face painfully.
Penelope rubbed her face, the spot where Zackary had slapped her, hurt even more.
Actually, the heart hurts the most.
Penelope was so engrossed in her own thoughts that she didn't even notice a black business car slowly pulling up beside her.
It was not until someone tightly grabbed her arm that she suddenly snapped back to reality.
She knew that trouble was coming. Instinctively, she wanted to break free from the person's grip, but his strength was too great. She didn't even have time to struggle before she was forcibly thrown into the van.
"Open the door! I needed to get off the car!"
Penelope wanted to pull open the car door, but it was already locked, she couldn't open it at all. She forcefully slapped the car door a few times, then stiffly withdrew her hand, because she knew in her heart, even if she smashed her hand, these people would not let her out of the car.
Especially when she saw the person sitting in the passenger seat, she simply couldn't muster the strength to keep pounding on the car door.
She couldn't recall the person's name, but she had seen him before.
He was Dalton's special assistant.
The person who caught her was her biological father, Dalton.
Penelope was not a fool. Judging by their attitudes, she could easily guess that the news of today's events had reached Dalton. He was planning to take action against her, to avenge Lola.
Thinking of the last time Dalton forcibly severed her wrist, chills ran through Penelope's heart.
She was a person destined to die, she was not afraid of death, but she could not die at the hands of Dalton.
Chelsea was about to wake up. If she had died at Dalton's hands, once her true identity was revealed, how would her parents face each other!
The cell phone suddenly rang, seeing it was a call from Lyman, Penelope quickly picked it up.
"Lyman, call Aunt Cornelia quickly! Dad... Mr. Hilliard had someone take me away, he..."
The phone in Penelope's hand was snatched away by the expressionless bodyguard in black sitting next to her. He cracked the window open and directly threw her phone outside.
"Ms. Sullivan, I advised you not to play any tricks, because in doing so, you would only meet a more miserable end!"
Died even more miserably...
This time, it really was to take her life.
In that moment, many thoughts flashed through Penelope's mind. She wanted to tell these people that they couldn't hurt her, she was the biological daughter of the Hilliard family.
In the end, she just couldn't bring herself to say it.
They wouldn't believe her words, and moreover, they were too loyal to Dalton. He was hell-bent on taking her life, how could they possibly let her off easily!
Dalton's men took Penelope to his villa in the suburbs.
In the backyard of his villa, there was also a five or six-story building.
Penelope was taken directly to the rooftop, where Dalton had already been waiting.
In his youth, Dalton was most arrogant and unrestrained. After years of tempering, he became much more composed than when he was young. However, if he was provoked, his anger was still unbearable for ordinary people.
In his deep blue eyes, a heavy chill lingered. Upon seeing Penelope, the chill inside rapidly spread out, eventually transforming into a rage that could almost grind a person to dust.
"Penelope!"
Dalton's voice was cold as ice, like water freezing instantly atop a snow-capped mountain in the midst of a thousand-mile ice field.
"Who allowed you to hurt Lola?!"
"Yes, this time, I was the one who initiated the attack on Lola! But I was not wrong! I did nothing wrong!"
Thinking of the only man she had ever loved in her life, who trusted her the least, and her own biological father, who only believed in Lola, Penelope felt an indescribable sense of injustice. Her eyes, physiologically, turned red, and tears were on the verge of rolling down her cheeks.
In the end, Penelope managed to hold back her tears, but she couldn't hide the lump in her throat no matter how hard she tried.
"Penelope, you really don't learn your lesson until you see the coffin!"
Dalton's voice was filled with obvious disgust and impatience. The thought of Penelope not only hurting Lola time and time again, but also repeatedly hurting his beloved Chelsea, made him wish he could tear her to pieces.
He regretted it, regretted that he had pitied Zackary for kneeling for a whole day during their last encounter, and had agreed to let her off the hook.
If she had known earlier that sparing the tiger would almost kill him and Chelsea's precious daughter, she should have sent him away the first time he hurt Chelsea!
"I was not wrong!"
At this moment, Dalton's expression was truly terrifying to the extreme, but Penelope still spoke with tears in her eyes, "Lola has hurt me over and over again. She made my Ethan a cripple, she drugged my Ethan, making him suffer so much. She even pricked my Ethan with a needle, making his life worse than death. What's wrong with me fighting back?!"
"Lola, she should have been dead long ago!"
Unfortunately, she still couldn't kill the most deserving Lola!
Tears, silently rolling down, Penelope really wanted to tell Dalton that it was his own great-grandson whom Lola had hurt time and time again.
But before she could utter a word, Dalton's voice, heavy with disgust and contempt, echoed in the air again, "Penelope, all I know is that you've repeatedly harmed Chelsea and Lola! Whatever you've done to them, today, I will make you pay a thousand, no, a million times over!"
"Didn't you enjoy pushing others off the building? Today, I'll make sure you've had enough!"
"Throw her down!"
