Chapter 162 Penelope was the real Penny!
"Ethan!"
No one responded to her.
Penelope's face turned pale, she frantically searched around the children's clothing store, but she couldn't find Ethan anywhere.
Ethan had always been a sensible child. In the past, when she took him out shopping and let go of his hand to pick up items, he would obediently stay by her side.
She could never have imagined that this time, when she was just standing on her tiptoes to get her clothes and let go of his hand for a few seconds, he would suddenly disappear without a trace.
Ethan had a children's phone on him.
After a brief moment of panic, Penelope quickly dialed Ethan's number.
Fortunately, Ethan picked up the phone quickly.
"Ethan, where were you?!"
"Mom, I am now at..." Ethan looked around before he quietly began, "It seems to be an underground garage."
"Ethan, wait there for Mommy! Don't run around! Mommy will be right there!" Penelope couldn't afford to ask Ethan why he had run off to the underground garage alone, she just wanted to see her Ethan as soon as possible.
This time, Ethan was not being ignorant, he deliberately ran around on his own.
He had silently left the mother and baby store because he had seen Kemp.
Ethan had been living with Kemp since he was born.
In his heart, Kemp and Penelope were just as dear to him as his own family, even more important than his biological father.
After he left the dungeon, he was actually waiting for Kemp's news every day. But he waited for so long, and Uncle Kemp, who had raised him single-handedly, never appeared in front of him again to give him a warm hug.
Now, having finally seen Kemp, Ethan certainly didn't want to let him disappear from his sight just like that.
His leg was lame and he couldn't walk fast. Even though he tried hard to move forward, he was still a great distance away from Kemp.
It was not until they followed him to the underground garage that the distance between them shortened a bit.
"Uncle Kemp!"
The underground garage was relatively quiet, so when Ethan shouted so loudly, Kemp finally heard his voice.
The bird-like Pennie, standing by his side, gently nudged him, "Kemp, that child, seems to be calling you. Do you know that child?"
Kemp turned around, and as he looked at Ethan, his handsome face, cold as jade, clearly showed impatience.
"Didn't know!"
After saying this, Kemp took out his car keys, pulled open the car door, and was about to get in.
"Uncle Kemp!" Ethan, fearing that Kemp would stop and leave, lifted his foot and quickly ran forward.
But his leg was so badly crippled that as soon as he tried to run, he fell clumsily to the ground.
"Uncle Kemp!" Ethan shouted loudly at Kemp, he really couldn't understand why his Uncle Kemp, who loved him so much, would say he didn't know him and look at him with such cold eyes.
His Uncle Kemp was the one who loved him the most.
No matter how naughty he was, he would always have endless patience for him.
He sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to him, taught him to recognize words and count numbers. Even his name was given by him. To him, he was like a teacher, like a father. He was the most important person in his world.
His Uncle Kemp, if he accidentally fell, he would be heartbroken for quite a while.
But now, he had fallen, and his Uncle Kemp, there was not a ripple in his eyes, only an inhuman coldness.
Seeing Kemp like this, Ethan suddenly felt like crying.
But Uncle Kemp had said, he was a little man, a little man, who was brave and strong. He also had to protect mom with Uncle Kemp, so he couldn't cry.
Ethan braced himself against the ground, struggling to stand up. He continued to limp forward, pitifully watching Kemp's retreating figure.
"Uncle Kemp, it's me, Ethan, your baby Ethan. Why did you say you don't recognize me anymore? Uncle Kemp, Ethan misses you so much..."
Ethan wanted to flash a brilliant smile, to give Kemp a big hug, but before he could even lift the corners of his mouth, his tears had already started to fall.
He really, really missed his Uncle Kemp.
"Ethan?" Looking at Ethan shedding tears non-stop, Kemp felt a lump in his throat. But he was absolutely certain, in his memory, there was no existence of this child.
"I didn't know you."
Ethan's eyes widened, he looked at Kemp in disbelief, then shook his head vigorously.
"Uncle Kemp, it's impossible! You can't possibly not recognize me!" Ethan stepped forward, wanting to throw himself into Kemp's arms, to take a good look at what exactly had happened to him, why he had become so strange. But before he could even touch Kemp, he was coldly pushed away.
Tears in his eyes, Ethan stood still, stunned. Despite Uncle Kemp's cold demeanor, he was still unwilling to let him slip away just like that.
Thinking of something, he quickly spoke to Kemp, "Uncle Kemp, I'm Ethan! My mom is Penelope, since I can remember, the three of us have been living together. Uncle Kemp, are you sick, how could you forget me?"
Penelope?
The agitation in Kemp's heart grew stronger. He spoke with a stern face, "Did Penelope send you?"
"Kemp, it goes without saying, it must have been Penelope who sent him over! Otherwise, what would a child like him know!" Kemp didn't remember Ethan, but Pennie certainly knew Ethan.
She took a step forward, her sweet little face looking indescribably gentle and approachable.
"Ethan, Kemp really didn't know you, and I didn't understand why you pretended to be familiar with him when you had no connection with him at all. Ethan, Kemp was really busy today, could you stop bothering him and go back to find your mother?"
"I didn't pretend! He is my Uncle Kemp!" Children's feelings are really sharp. Although Pennie laughed innocently and harmlessly, Ethan just didn't like her.
He looked at her with a wary expression, "What on earth happened to Uncle Kemp?! He said we were his closest family, why doesn't he recognize me and my mom anymore?!"
"Ethan, Kemp wasn't supposed to know you at all!" Pennie paused, then continued, "Kemp knew your mother, but they weren't close either. Besides, your mother has done many bad things to us."
"Ethan, I don't know why your mother asked you to come here and deliberately say these things, but it was really wrong of her to do so. No matter what her intentions were, she shouldn't have taught you to lie."
"I won't allow you to talk about my mom like that! I didn't lie!" Ethan's face turned red with anger. He ignored Pennie and continued to shout at Kemp, who was already sitting in the car, "Uncle Kemp, I didn't deceive you! You really are my Uncle Kemp! We are the closest people! I am Ethan!"
"Penny, get in the car!" Kemp pressed down the car window, speaking lightly to Penny.
Penny...
Hearing Kemp's address to Pennie, Ethan's eyes instantly reddened, "Uncle Kemp, she's not Penny! My mom is Penny! All those years we were together, you always called my mom Penny! Liar! She must be a liar!"
