Chapter 33 Lola, Apologize to Penelope
Lyman slapped Lola hard on her face.
Lola's face with delicate makeup was instantly distorted.
Lyman saw that Lola was still stepping on Penelope's hand. He directly pushed Lola to the ground.
It was then that Lola snapped back to her senses. She still couldn't believe that Lyman had hit her for Penelope.
After all, in his eyes, Lola was his sister.
"Lyman, how dare you hit me!" Lola stared at Lyman in disbelief, her eyes tearful and unspeakably aggrieved.
"Don't call my name!" Seeing the cold sweat on Penelope's forehead, Lyman was furious. "Lola, you're really going too far. Penelope's hand was injured, and you deliberately stepped on it. How can you be so malicious?"
"Lyman, how can you say that about me? I'm your sister. How can you think so evil of your sister?" Lola cried hard. "Moreover, I've grown up with Penelope, and I treat her like my family. How could I possibly hurt her?"
"You treat Penelope like your family?" Lyman looked frivolous when he smiled, but when he didn't smile, his clear eyes were sharp.
"Lola, if you had really treated Penelope as your sister, you wouldn't have told me so hastily the night before last that Penelope had harmed my mom.
"Also, Lola, Penelope is my beloved girl. Even though you are my sister, if you dare to bully her, I won't let you go."
"Lyman!" Lola growled in anger. Although she didn't spend much time with Lyman, he had always been quite nice to her. She didn't expect that he would go against her for Penelope's sake.
Lyman didn't bother to listen to Lola yelling. He carefully picked Penelope up from the ground. He panicked when he saw the blood on the bandages around her hand.
"Penelope, you're bleeding again. I'm taking you to the hospital."
Penelope took her hand back. "Mr. Hilliard, I'm okay. The blood on me is fake. My hand is fine."
The director also noticed the commotion over here. He didn't expect that Lyman and Lola, the siblings, would argue in public.
He couldn't afford to offend them. He didn't want to be affected, but this was the set where he shot the drama. He couldn't just sit back and do nothing. He could only go over to smooth things over.
"Mr. Hilliard, what brings you here?" the director said carefully with a flattering smile.
"I came over to accompany my girlfriend. Should I report it to you?"
The director was tactful. He naturally knew that the girlfriend Lyman was talking about was Penelope in his arms.
He secretly shot a glance at Penelope. He really didn't expect that this little-known extra would be the girlfriend of the famous Lyman.
However, after taking a closer look, the director understood why Lyman liked this extra. She wore no makeup, yet she was surprisingly better-looking than Lola, the leading actress in this drama.
Judging from her stunning face, if she could enter showbiz, she would be promising and make a great success.
Seeing Lyman's ugly expression, the director panicked and withdrew his eyes from Penelope's face. "Mr. Hilliard, what are you talking about? How dare I let you report to me?"
Lyman didn't pay any more attention to the director. He coldly looked at the crying Lola. "Lola, apologize to Penelope!"
"I'm not apologizing." Lola cried harder. "I didn't make any mistakes. Why should I apologize?" She then said to the director, "Give a judgment. I just followed the script and accidentally stepped on her. Is it my fault?"
The director didn't dare to offend Lola, so he nodded his head. "No. That's what the script required. Mr. Hilliard, Lola didn't do it on purpose, and you're siblings. Let's just forget about it."
Lyman didn't want to make things difficult for Lola.
Yet thinking of Penelope's bloody severed finger, he couldn't just watch her be bullied, even though the person who bullied her was his sister.
"Lola, apologize to Penelope."
"Penelope, I treated you well. I don't think I've done anything to hurt you. Why did you keep going against me and sow discord between me and Lyman?" Lola couldn't persuade Lyman, so she targeted Penelope.
"Penelope, I'm really sad that you harmed me over and over again.
"No matter how many unpleasant things have happened between us, I used to take you as my sister. I can forget what you did to harm me. Can we get along well in the future?"
The director was a little confused by Lola's words. He mechanically nodded. "Yes, how good it is to get along well!"
Seeing the director speak up for her, Lola was even more pleased. She looked at Penelope pitifully. "Penelope, don't target me anymore, okay? I beg you."
Penelope wanted to laugh.
Lola was really good at misrepresentation. Obviously, she harmed Penelope time and time again. Now, Penelope became the culprit.
Penelope didn't say anything. She just unhurriedly took out her cell phone and pressed the button to fast-forward the recording. Lola's sinister voice sounded from it.
When dealing with a bad woman, one couldn't just put up with her. Counterattacks at the right time were needed.
"Penelope, how does this feel? Is it great?"
The voice from the cell phone wasn't loud, but both the director and Lyman could hear it clearly, and even the extras around them could hear it.
The way they looked at Lola changed instantly.
Who would have thought that Lola, a big star who always looked pure and virtuous, would be such a hypocrite?
As Lola heard this recording, her face instantly turned dark red, and she could no longer restrain her hatred toward Penelope. Lola glared at Penelope as if to cut her into a thousand pieces.
Penelope didn't notice Lola's resentment. Penelope slightly raised her chin. She was very thin, but she looked noble and elegant.
"Lola, who is the culprit?"
"Penelope, you're shameless. You even recorded it." Lola was infuriated, and all the hypocrisy on her face turned into hideous hatred.
Realizing that she was too emotional, Lola tried to act like a bullied victim. "Penelope, I'm sincerely nice to you. Why are you setting me up like this?"
Lola was addicted to putting on a show, but Lyman, who had a bad temper, couldn't take it anymore. He sneered and said mercilessly, "Lola, that's enough! If you were really nice to Penelope, would you have intentionally stepped on her injured hand repeatedly?
"Lola, I'll say it for the last time. Apologize to Penelope, or you'll suffer the consequences!"
