Chapter 239 Penelope's husband, not Mr. Zackary!

Zack, I really, really loved roses.

If you had proposed to me, I would have wanted lots and lots of roses, otherwise, I wouldn't have married you!

Penelope, rest assured, I would definitely let the roses all over the ground witness our love.

Rose petals were still falling incessantly, amidst the profusion, there were still whole roses, fiery red roses, dazzling, seductive, and with a deep affection that was captivating.

Penelope half-squatted, carefully holding up a complete rose.

It turned out that he remembered everything she had casually said when she was acting spoiled years ago.

Penelope's eyes, uncontrollably moist, suddenly turned around, as if she saw a young boy in a white shirt, holding roses, walking towards her step by step.

The clean and warm young man in my memory gradually overlapped with the Zackary in front of me. The same eyebrows and eyes, time did not leave any traces on him, only made his temperament increasingly noble and outstanding, and increasingly charming.

Gazing deeply into the eyes of Zackary, who was holding a large bouquet of roses, Penelope couldn't help but think that the praise of his once-in-a-thousand-years handsome face didn't seem exaggerated at all. This face had the potential to make women lose their minds.

She seemed to be completely infatuated and lost in a fog at that moment.

"Penelope, marry me, be my wife, will you?"

Zackary knelt on one knee, his eyes burning brightly as he looked at Penelope, "Penelope, I will devote my life to loving you, caring for you, protecting you, being faithful to our love, and standing by you, in life and in death."

"Penelope, will you marry me?"

The rose blooming amidst the fireworks was her dream. The man in front of her was the only boy she had ever loved in her life. Even though he had caused her immense pain, her heart still beat for him.

How could one say it wasn't good!

Just that, the lump in my throat was so severe, I wanted to say 'okay' quickly, but it was somewhat difficult.

All Penelope could do was nod vigorously, letting him know that she too loved him and was willing to marry him.

Seeing Penelope accept his proposal, Zackary was not the composed, commanding figure who could move mountains and summon the wind. Instead, he seemed more like a young boy experiencing his first love.

He hurriedly pulled out the engagement ring he had prepared from his pocket and slipped it onto Penelope's finger.

Today, this action, he had imagined thousands of times. He thought that the act of putting on the ring was the simplest thing, and he could easily slip the ring onto her finger.

But he was truly too overjoyed and excited. His large hands, with their distinct knuckles and commanding presence, couldn't stop trembling. He clumsily tried to put the ring on her finger several times, but he couldn't manage to slide it on accurately.

Penelope was truly dumbfounded by Zackary.

Who would have thought that the famous Mr. Zackary could be so clumsy as to not even be able to put a ring on a woman's finger!

By the eighth time Zackary almost dropped the diamond ring on the ground, Penelope wanted to snatch the ring directly and put it on her finger herself.

But she was afraid that it would hurt Zackary's young soul, so she forcefully suppressed this impulse.

Just let him keep messing around, could he really be so stupid as to not be able to put on a ring all night!

Zackary indeed wasn't that stupid, after fumbling a few more times, he finally managed to slip the ring onto Penelope's ring finger.

Looking at the missing pinky on Penelope's left hand, Zackary felt a pang of pain in his heart. He somewhat regretted not having chopped off Pennie's hand directly.

He tenderly held Penelope's small hand, speaking as if presenting a treasure, "Penelope, I've put a ring on your finger! You're trapped by me, for the rest of your life, you can only be my, Zackary's, wife!"

"Who do you think you're trapping!" Penelope blurted out, her face flushed. "Zack, have some shame!"

"Penelope, in this lifetime, I was only shameless towards you!"

Zackary suddenly swept Penelope off her feet, "Penelope, let's have no shame tonight!"

Zackary had injuries on his left arm and shoulder. Penelope was afraid that his holding her like this would aggravate his wounds, so she hurriedly tried to struggle out of his arms.

"Zack, put me down quickly! Your wound will tear open!"

"Penelope, it's just a minor injury, it's nothing!" Zackary stubbornly held Penelope very tightly, "Even if my arm was broken, I would still hold my wife! Penelope, I want to hold you for a lifetime!"

"Who wants to be held by you for a lifetime!" Penelope muttered under her breath, her face flushed. Yet, in her heart, she was almost overwhelmed with sweetness.

Zackary laughed. Who would have thought that the seemingly abstinent, cold, noble and stunning Mr. Zackary could also laugh like a fool in front of a little woman!

However, Penelope really liked it.

Such Zackary was not shrouded in gloom, but rather possessed the vibrant vitality of a young man, like the rising sun, making people feel exceptionally warm.

Watching the fireworks still bursting in the sky as if they were free, Penelope couldn't help but speak up, "Zack, it seems like our community doesn't allow fireworks. Will we get reprimanded?"

"No way!" Zackary asserted firmly. Even if there was to be criticism and education, it would only be Mr. Samuel, the senior assistant, who would be educated.

Assured that she wouldn't be scolded by the police, Penelope's heart finally fell back into her stomach.

Thinking that Zackary wanted to have dinner with her that night, she was afraid he would be hungry. As soon as she returned to the small apartment, she wanted to jump out of his arms and go to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Zackary wouldn't let go, which made Penelope somewhat anxious, "Zack, put me down! Aren't you hungry? I'll go cook!"

Zackary, who originally had burning eyes, suddenly became incredibly profound in an instant. Such intense depth, carrying an ancient love and obsession, almost sucked people's souls in.

Penelope's heart pounded violently, her thin-skinned face instinctively turning to one side.

However, Zackary didn't give her a chance to dodge. He urgently claimed her lips, murmuring in a low, pleasant voice that was as melodious as the most beautiful cello tune, "Penelope, I am indeed hungry, but, I want to eat you."

Thunder from the sky and fire from the earth.

In the middle of the night, Zackary was actually not yet satisfied, but looking at the little woman who had fallen asleep heavily on the bed, he felt affectionate and didn't want to continue to bother her. He gently held her in his arms, intending to fall asleep with her, when her phone on the bedside table started to ring urgently.

Zackary, afraid of disturbing the soundly sleeping Penelope, let go of her, quickly grabbed his phone, and was about to hang up the incessantly ringing call when he saw the caller ID flashing on the screen.

Husband.

Zackary's fingers suddenly tightened, nearly crushing the cellphone in his hand.

He looked at Penelope, her cheeks flushed, with a complex look in his eyes, then took his phone and went to the balcony.

The cell phone ringtone stopped ringing.

Not a few seconds had passed when the phone rang again.

Zackary stared at the phone screen for a few seconds before finally answering the call.

As soon as the call connected, Ralph's clearly ingratiating voice came through the phone, "Penelope, I miss you so much."
