Chapter 401 Zack, what would you do if Penelope was innocent?!

Give him one last chance...

The last time they made up, he seemed to have said something similar.

However, that's not how opportunities were used.

Given the chance, he would ruthlessly push her away again, thus completely erasing the last bit of warmth in her heart.

Penelope forced herself to calm down, no longer looking at his face as pure as a child's. She gritted her teeth, forcefully kicked off his hand that was grabbing her foot, picked up her phone from the ground, and quickly dialed Cornelia's number.

She had been so preoccupied with Zackary just now that she had forgotten she had Cornelia's phone number.

Cornelia had previously set her up on a blind date with Dylan and had once called her. Although she didn't save her number, she could still find it from the call history.

Almost immediately, Cornelia picked up the phone.

Her voice, as always, was gentle and approachable, "Penelope, did you need something from me?"

"Aunt Cornelia, Mr. Spencer is here with me, could you please have someone come and pick him up?"

Cornelia, a person who had weathered many storms, had a rough idea of what had happened that night after hearing Penelope's words.

Some despised their own son for being shameless, and despised him even more for not being able to win over the young girl despite his shamelessness.

"Penelope, don't worry, I had someone bring Zack back right away."

After hanging up the phone, Cornelia saw Dylan, the old bachelor, still sitting on the sofa, leisurely sipping his tea, which made her even more frustrated.

After learning about Ethan's true identity, Cornelia naturally stopped trying to match Dylan and Penelope. However, her own son was almost thirty, and she couldn't let him remain single forever.

So, she painstakingly arranged another blind date for him.

For this blind date, Mr. Dylan did show up, but what did he say again?!

Yes, he said the perfume scent on his blind date was so strong that it gave him a headache.

Yes, he even complained that the young girl's nostrils were not attractive.

She had him go on a blind date to find a daughter-in-law for her, who asked him to look at the girl's nostrils?!

That Isabella was even more annoying, always spreading rumors all day long, but never seriously dating anyone. She couldn't possibly remain unmarried and childless, spreading rumors for the rest of her life, could she?!

And then there was that Zack...

He couldn't even keep his wife and children, and he kept causing trouble. Now look at him, even if he's sick and acting pitiful, people are unwilling to pay attention to him, right? Let's see how he's going to act out in the future!

The more she thought about it, the angrier Cornelia became. She glared at Dylan fiercely, "Drink! All you know is to drink! You might as well turn into a water barrel!"

"Dylan, hurry up and fetch Zack from Penelope's place! No! Don't bring him back here, take him to your place! Seeing you all behaving so irresponsibly, it really pisses me off!"

Seeing his own mother so angry, Dylan certainly didn't dare to add fuel to the fire. He put down the teacup in his hand and quickly went over to Penelope to pick up Zackary.

When his own son was scolded by Cornelia, Jayden was quite schadenfreude.

Cornelia turned around and saw the slight upward curve of Jayden's lips.

"Laugh?! You have the nerve to laugh?! If it weren't for your terrible genes, I wouldn't have given birth to such a bunch of weirdos!"

Jayden tactfully closed his mouth, not daring to upset his own wife.

Alright, people with inferior genes, had no right to speak.

Dylan directly picked up Zackary and took him to his villa in Silverybay Estates.

When he went to pick him up, he had taken some fever-reducing medicine, and in fact, his fever wasn't that severe anymore.

Clearly, Zackary wanted to stay with Penelope, but her resolve was too strong. No matter how he acted pitifully or tried to wheedle, she remained unmoved. He was eventually forcibly dragged out by his older brother, Dylan.

Lying on Dylan's oversized bed, Zackary squinted his eyes, his mood as ugly as it could possibly be.

When it was burning severely just now, my consciousness was hazy, and I wasn't this upset.

Now that he was fully conscious, he realized that the pain of an empty heart was indescribable.

"Awake?" Dylan asked, holding a glass of water and placing it on the bedside table next to Zackary. "If you're awake, have some water!"

Zackary wore a cold, detached expression, drinking water absentmindedly.

Dylan was leaning on the couch, a faint, teasing smile on his handsome face, identical to Zackary's.

Actually, it was quite strange. Dylan and Zackary looked so alike, but no one ever mistook one for the other.

If it weren't for seeing them in person, no one would dare to imagine that two faces carved from the same mold could give off completely different vibes, with their personal auras also being starkly different.

But it was the same handsome, the same heart-throbbing, irresistible charm that made people fall for it.

Dylan took a leisurely sip of his tea, "Go on, tell me what you gained from being so shameless tonight."

Zackary was ruthlessly kicked out by Penelope. His face, which was already quite unpleasant, turned as black as the bottom of a pot upon hearing Dylan's words.

He was so angry that he didn't want to speak, glaring at Dylan fiercely.

Dylan, however, didn't take his anger to heart at all. He continued to sip his tea elegantly, "Zack, considering all the good things you've done to Ethan and Penelope, it's already merciful enough of her not to stab you while you were sick."

"Big brother, what did you mean by that?!"

Zackary put down the water cup in his hand, his eyes cold and harsh, devoid of any warmth, "It was that woman who betrayed me! She deceived me, failed me, lied to me, hurt me, what right does she have to be angry with me?!"

"Zack, sometimes what the eyes see and the ears hear may not necessarily be the truth."

Zackary didn't respond to Dylan's words, evidently, he didn't approve of what he said.

Dylan didn't continue to argue with him either, he just calmly said, "Zack, the servant found the USB I gave you in the bushes downstairs, why didn't you watch the video inside?!"

"Big brother, I had already watched the hotel's video before, it was Ralph and Penelope who conspired to harm Lola!"

Dylan faintly hooked his lip, neither confirming nor denying.

After several seconds of silence, he finally spoke in a cold voice, "Zack, when I came to pick you up, you were murmuring all the time, 'you love Penelope'."

"But, you didn't believe her."

"Zack, if I, Dylan, loved a woman, even if the whole world didn't believe her, I would still choose to believe her without hesitation. Zack, I really don't understand your so-called love."

"She hurt Lola over and over again, she even wanted to kill me, she doesn't deserve my trust!"

Look, it came again.

Dylan glanced at his younger brother somewhat helplessly, truly unsure of when he would be able to clear the fog in front of his eyes and understand his own heart.

She didn't continue to argue with him about the issue of love. After a moment of silence, Dylan slowly began to speak, "Zack, Mommy asked me to investigate the matter between you, Penelope, and Lola from many years ago."

"Now, I haven't figured out everything from that year yet, but Zack, if I do, and if Penelope never harmed you, if she was truly innocent, what then?!"
