Chapter 217 She was Dirty, Shameless

As Zackary's voice fell, two doctors in white coats walked in.

Upon seeing the faces of these two doctors, Linda's face turned pale instantly.

She clung tightly to Devon's sleeve, "Devon, make them leave! They must be out to harm me! I don't want to see them! Make them leave!"

Seeing Linda in such pain, Devon slightly furrowed his brows. He didn't know why her reaction to these two doctors had suddenly become so intense, but he was used to protecting her. He couldn't bear to see her the slightest bit upset.

Just as Devon was about to order the two doctors out, Zackary's icy voice rang out in the air, "Speak! Was Linda actually pregnant or not!"

"Ms....," the doctor standing in front, stealthily glanced at Linda. Meeting her warning gaze, her eyelid uncontrollably twitched.

She had accepted favors from Linda and should have worked for her, but even a fool knew that Mr. Zackary was not someone to be offended.

She quickly averted her gaze, refusing to make eye contact with Linda, "Ms. Sullivan was not pregnant at all!"

Another doctor also quickly spoke up, "Yes, Ms. Sullivan was not pregnant! The reason we said she was pregnant and had a miscarriage was because we took advantage of her, doing her bidding!"

"Say that to me again?!" Devon's thin lips tightened, presenting an unpredictable and dangerous demeanor.

The doctors were clearly afraid of Devon, but they still said in unison, "Mr. Burke, Ms. Sullivan was not pregnant!"

"Why did you do this to me?! I don't even know you, there's no way I could have benefited you! Why did you help Corona to harm me?! Just because you received benefits from her, you could betray your own conscience?!"

After Linda finished shouting excitedly, she threw herself directly into Devon's arms, "Devon, believe me! Believe me! You must believe me! If even you don't believe me, then there is no one in this world who would be willing to believe me!"

"Devon, I really don't know why they all want to hurt me like this! I just lost our child, I'm heartbroken, I'm living a life worse than death, why do they still want to add insult to injury?! Devon, you tell me, what on earth did I do wrong to be tormented like this?!"

The two doctors were clearly astonished by Linda's superb acting skills, but remembering Zackary's warning, they still chose to tell the truth.

The doctor standing in front stood out his own phone, swiped it open, and respectfully handed it to Devon.

"Mr. Burke, we really didn't lie, you can check if you don't believe us, this is the transfer record Ms. Sullivan gave us!"

The bank card Linda used was still the one Devon had given her. He remembered the last digits of this bank card extremely clearly. Looking at the numbers displayed on the mobile phone screen, it was hard for him to continue deceiving himself.

The doctor standing at the back also hurriedly opened the file in his hand and took out a stack of medical reports.

"Mr. Burke, this is Ms. Sullivan's medical report after her admission to the hospital. It's clear as day, she was not pregnant at all!"

"Mr. Burke, I'm sorry, we lied to you before that Ms. Sullivan had a miscarriage. We really took her money at that time, we were confused! She wasn't pregnant at all, it was impossible for her to have a miscarriage!"

"I didn't!" Linda was stubborn as a mule, still pleading pitifully in denial, "Devon, I really didn't! Please, believe me, will you? They just want to harm me! They want to ruin our relationship!"

"Linda, the bank card you used to transfer money to her, was the one I gave you a few days ago," Devon looked at Linda with a complex gaze. In his heart, she was the most innocent and kind, and he didn't want to believe that she would do such a thing.

Upon hearing Devon's words, Linda stiffened involuntarily. She lifted her face, her eyes blurred with tears, looking at him. "Devon, I really don't know what's going on with this transfer record! Yes, transfer records can be falsified! They must have deliberately falsified it to frame me! Devon, you can't let them bully me like this!"

Watching Linda, who was sobbing in his arms like a pear blossom in the rain, Devon suddenly didn't know how to comfort her.

He gently stroked her back, "Linda, don't cry, the transfer record, it's real."

"Linda, why did you deliberately pretend to have a miscarriage?"

"Devon, I didn't!" Linda shook her head vehemently. However, when she met Devon's gaze, she suddenly found herself unable to continue denying it.

It was the first time she had seen him look at her with such an expression.

In her memory, the look in Devon's eyes whenever he looked at her was always gentle and indulgent. No matter how ruthless his methods were in front of others, or how heartless he was, he was always incredibly tolerant towards her, not even willing to utter a harsh word.

But now, his eyes carried a clear indifference and detachment, as if she was not the girl he held in the palm of his hand, but just a stranger he had never known.

Such coldness made Linda shiver from the bottom of her heart. She knew that if she continued to be stubborn, it would only make Devon despise her more.

She gritted her teeth and spoke softly, "Yes, Devon, I did something bad, I lied to you, I was never pregnant, let alone had a miscarriage!"

"Corona didn't force me to take the abortion pill, I framed her. But Devon, do you know why I did this? I was scared! I was scared that you would leave me, that you would be with her."

"Devon, I will never forget that scene at our engagement party in my entire life. Every time I think of you two entangled together, it feels like a knife twisting in my heart, as if I could die again! I've become a cripple who can't even stand up, I'm not worthy of you, I have no sense of security. Devon, I did all this because I'm afraid I will lose you!"

"Linda, you shouldn't have done that." Devon gently held Linda tight, choosing to be tolerant even though he knew she was wrong.

"Linda, I'm sorry, it's me who can't give you a sense of security. Linda, don't do foolish things anymore, you are the only one in my heart, in this life, I only want you! Also, Linda, never say again that you are disabled, I won't allow you to belittle yourself like this!"

"In my heart, you were always my dearest Linda, the best Linda. You injured your legs, but I would never despise you. The scars on your body would only make me cherish you more."

"Devon!" Linda cried even harder, choking on her sobs, "Devon, I'm really scared! You don't know how afraid I am that you'll get back together with Corona! I know, I'm a bad woman for doing this, but I just hope you don't like her, I hope you can stay away from her!"

"Fool, how could I possibly like her! This shameless woman, I feel disgusted even with a glance! Linda, such a dirty woman, she's not even worthy to carry your shoes!"

"Bang!"

Devon and Linda bullied Corona like this, and he even humiliated her so much, Wilton couldn't bear it.

He slammed his fist hard into Devon's face, "Devon, it's you and Linda who are filthy, shameless! You, apologize to Corona!"
