Chapter 86 Mr. Spencer was so fierce!
"Isabella, please stop calling Mr. Hilliard!"
Lyman had had enough trouble for the day, and given the late hour, Penelope didn't want to bother him any further.
"But Penelope, Zack did this to you. If I don't tell Lyman, I won't be able to live with myself!"
"Isabella, you misunderstood, my injury had nothing to do with Mr. Spencer. I showed up here tonight because I came to deliver something to Mr. Spencer."
Her body still ached so much that it made her question life, but with Isabella around, this was her best chance to leave. She forced herself to get out of bed, covered her body with a blanket, picked up the clothes that had fallen on the floor, and put them on one by one.
The wound on her back instantly stuck to her coat again, accompanied by the stomach cramps, Penelope gasped in discomfort.
But even so, she still held her back straight, slightly lifted her chin, her small face pale and fragile, yet carried an unyielding spirit that the storm could not break. "Mr. Spencer, I have delivered the items. The task you assigned, I have completed. I will leave now."
"Penelope, you dare!"
Saying this, Zackary reached out to grab Penelope's arm, but before he could touch her, Isabella grabbed him, "Always bullying the little girl, Zackary, are you even a man?"
Isabella's tone towards Zackary was as bad as it could get, but when she looked at Penelope, she became incredibly gentle, "Penelope, it's so late and you're injured. It's not safe for you to go home alone. How about I drive you home?"
"No need." Penelope shook her head gently, "Isabella, thank you. The transportation here is very convenient, I can just take a taxi home."
Penelope was so stubborn that Isabella didn't want to force her to go back. Seeing Zackary trying to grab Penelope again, she directly hit him on the forehead with a chestnut.
"Isabella!" Zackary gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with a chilling coldness that was terrifying.
Isabella, however, completely disregarded his anger. "Zackary, you're getting out of line now, aren't you? Do you believe me if I call mom right now and tell her you've been bullying Lyman's girlfriend? Let's see how mom will discipline you!"
Zackary was worried that Cornelia would get angry and was too lazy to continue arguing with Isabella.
However, Isabella had no intention of letting him off so easily, "Penelope just said she was bringing you something, what on earth did you have her bring you at this late hour?"
Before Zackary could respond, Isabella spotted several boxes on the ground. She suddenly realized what was going on.
"Zackary, you actually let Penelope deliver this thing to you! I think your sickness is really extraordinarily severe! You're lukewarm to Lola all day, and there are no other women around you, yet you let Penelope deliver this kind of thing to you, what are you using it for?! Blowing balloons?!"
"Isabella, get out!" Zackary could no longer tolerate it and planned to throw Isabella out directly.
Isabella couldn't be bothered to deal with her severely twisted brother either. She quickly put on her mask, fully armed, "Zackary, do you think I want to be here? A twisted freak, I don't want to breathe the air polluted by you!"
After saying this, she stepped into her eight-centimeter high heels and rushed out the door in a flurry.
After Isabella left, Zackary's world finally regained its peace. But before he could enjoy a few seconds of tranquility, his phone rang again.
Seeing that the call was from Samuel, he still answered it.
"Boss, I've figured it out. Ms. Sullivan was hurt, and it seems like it was set up by Pennie."
"Pennie?" Zackary frowned, clearly there was no such person in his memory.
"Yes, Pennie," Samuel paused, then continued to explain Pennie's identity to Zackary, "She is a contracted artist of our film and television company under the Spencer Group. Although she is only a second-tier artist now, she has had quite a few good resources recently. A few days ago, she was even confirmed as the leading actress in a major IP drama."
"Block it!" After saying this without any hint of emotion, Zackary immediately hung up the phone.
Samuel's heart pounded wildly on the other end of the phone. The boss was as ruthless as ever!
Don't offend anyone, especially not the boss!
With a few casual words, he put an end to Pennie's thriving entertainment career.
After his heart had thumped hard a few times, Samuel sighed softly again.
The one involved is confused, the bystander sees clearly. The boss was convinced that he hated Penelope to the bone, but without deep love, where could such heavy hatred come from!
Zackary casually placed his phone on the bedside table and, with a serious expression, walked over to the window.
The dew outside the window deepened, and at some point, snowflakes began to flutter down again. As the snowflakes danced and fell, the originally clear night view gradually seemed to be shrouded in a layer of gauze.
It was snowing, and that woman was wearing so little, even with injuries on her body. Did she want to be buried in the snow or what!
Zackary muttered a curse, grabbed the car keys, and dashed out of the room.
He searched around the path leading out of the villa area, even checking some sections where Penelope could not possibly have gone, but he still did not find any trace of her.
He was both anxious and angry in his heart, and drove directly to the Horse House.
Coincidentally, just as Penelope left Zackary's villa, she ran into a taxi that was dropping someone off.
The homeowners of Silverybay Estates were either rich or noble, and they usually had drivers for their outings. It was rare for a taxi to enter the area. It was quite a stroke of luck for Penelope to encounter a taxi there tonight.
The pain in Penelope's stomach was becoming increasingly unbearable. She rummaged through her bag, only to find that she had forgotten to bring her painkillers.
She was in a hurry to get back to Silverybay Estates to take her medicine, urging the driver several times along the way. The journey, which usually took more than half an hour, was successfully shortened to within half an hour.
The property management always liked to procrastinate on various matters. As she expected, when she returned, the door was still broken.
It was so late and she was feeling so unwell, she didn't want to keep pushing the property management. She planned to call them again tomorrow.
"Penelope!" Lyman's face was filled with deep concern, "Where have you been? It's so late!"
"I had something to do, so I stepped out for a bit. Mr. Hilliard, why have you come again?"
A rare blush tinted Lyman's face, "Penelope, you're hurt, your house door is broken, and you're here alone, I'm worried."
Penelope understood Lyman's concerns, but she didn't want to trouble him either. Just as she was about to tell him to go back, a wave of intense pain hit her. Her body went limp and she fell straight to the ground.
"Penelope, what happened to you?!"
"Mr. Hilliard, I'm fine, could you please help me to the bedroom? I need to take my medicine."
Lyman knew that Penelope had a stomachache again, he hurriedly picked her up sideways and quickly walked towards her bedroom.
After taking the medicine, Penelope asked him to leave again. But seeing her in such a bad state, how could he possibly leave her alone here!
Later, Penelope was so exhausted that she didn't argue with him anymore, but instead fell into a deep sleep on the bed.
Lyman was also somewhat tired. After tucking Penelope in, he lay down by the bed and fell asleep as well.
Once Lyman woke up, he easily forgot what night it was and where he was. In a daze, he climbed into bed, found a comfortable position, and continued to sleep soundly, hugging his pillow.
When Zackary came over, this was the scene he saw: Penelope and Lyman were tightly nestled together on the soft, large bed in the bedroom, inseparable!
