Chapter 64 It was Lola who harmed others!
"Mr. Hilliard......"
Penelope hugged Lyman tightly, like an abandoned child who had finally found a relative.
Feeling wronged, she had so many things she wanted to say to Lyman. But when she opened her mouth, all that came out was his name.
Penelope felt that life was sometimes quite wonderful. Some people, just by calling their name, could make one feel so warm and cozy.
Zackary squinted dangerously, his cold gaze fixed on the two people huddled together. His facial expression remained unchanged, but his eyes suddenly turned fierce and ferocious in an instant.
Kemp's face turned particularly ugly. He felt as if his emotions had been toyed with. How could this shameless woman try to seduce him one second, and then throw herself into the arms of another man the next?!
Unexpectedly, Lyman returned so quickly, leaving Lola slightly stunned.
But she was best at managing her expressions. In just a moment, she had regained her appearance of being adept at handling situations.
She stepped forward, putting on the demeanor of a caring older sister, and warmly said to Lyman, "Lyman, you're back! I believe there must have been a misunderstanding about tonight's events. If sister drugged Mr. Hunter, she must have had her reasons!"
It seemed as though Lola was speaking for Penelope, but what she said actually confirmed that Penelope had drugged Kemp.
Penelope wasn't foolish, she naturally discerned the hidden meaning in Lola's words. Just as she was about to tear off the hypocritical mask on her face, Lyman had already taken the lead to speak.
"Penelope drugged Mr. Hunter?!" Lyman laughed as he let go of Penelope. He clapped his hands lightly and walked into the room alone.
Upon recognizing the person who walked in, Lola's face changed dramatically.
She was actually the waitress who had delivered the wine to Kemp's room!
However, Lyman had just returned to the country, how could he have found this waiter?!
Seemingly noticing the confusion in Lola's heart, Lyman kindly clarified it for her.
"Sis, you're surprised that I found Gianna, aren't you?! As soon as I got off the plane today, I rushed to find Penelope. Unexpectedly, Penelope was not in the small apartment, nor in the hospital. I was very anxious, so I asked Justin to help me check. Only then did I find out that Penelope had come to the charity gala."
"I was in a hurry to see Penelope, and since Penelope had come over here, I naturally had to come as well. Coincidentally, I went to the corridor to answer a phone call and unexpectedly bumped into Gianna whispering with her little friend."
"It didn't matter if I didn't listen, but once I did, it seemed as if I had discovered some incredible secret! My Penelope, it seemed as if she had been schemed against!"
Not giving Lola a chance to speak, Lyman looked at Gianna with a smile full of meaning, "Gianna, tell me, who exactly asked you to deliver that glass of red wine to Mr. Hunter's room! Was it my Penelope, or my dear sister, Lola?!"
Lola's face turned pale, before she could stop him, Gianna had already spoken, "It's Lola, Ms. Hilliard!"
"You're talking nonsense!" Lola shrieked, "I didn't do anything at all! Why are you framing me like this?!"
Lola abruptly turned her face to stare at Penelope, "Sister, why did you have to do this?! You wanted to get into Kemp's bed, even if you failed, it was your business. Why did you have to splash the dirty water on me, making me the scapegoat?!"
Gianna was an upright girl, and she was not pleased when she heard Lola distorting the truth like this.
"Ms. Hilliard, what do you mean by that? It was clearly the glass of red wine you gave me to deliver to Mr. Hunter, and you even told me to tell Mr. Hunter it was from Ms. Sullivan."
"You were my idol, I liked you, and I arrogantly assumed that you were just like the persona you had created, upright, passionate, and kind. Therefore, I believed that you truly cared for Miss Penelope, and that offering this glass of wine was merely to help her reconnect with her old friends."
"However, I didn't expect that you added something to this wine. You had me deliver this glass of wine to harm Miss Penelope!"
"Ms. Hilliard, I am so disappointed in you! I will never like you again! I tell you, starting from today, I have completely turned against you! I am your number one hater!"
After saying this, Gianna bravely took out a large stack of money from his pocket and threw it on Lola.
"I don't want your dirty money that harms others!"
"I..."
Lola was so shocked that she almost spat out a mouthful of old blood. Her delicate, makeup-covered face turned from pale to green, looking unspeakably ugly.
But after all, Lola was Lola. In the blink of an eye, she regained her composure.
She spoke calmly, "Gianna, right? Gianna, I have no grudge against you, I don't understand why you want to frame me like this. Tonight, I haven't seen you at all, how could I possibly give you money to do something for me?"
"Gianna, I was really upset by what you did."
Lola turned her face, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked at Penelope. "Sister, I know that you brought Gianna here on purpose to hurt me. Sister, I don't blame you, I really don't blame you. I just beg you, please don't hurt me anymore, okay? After all, I call you sister!"
Lola collapsed weakly into Zackary's arms, "Zackary, can you not blame my sister? I know she did all this because she resents you for saving me and giving up on Ethan. I've been pregnant before, I know how heartbreaking it is to lose a child, I understand my sister's pain, so Zackary, can you forgive her?"
Seeing Lola, this prime white lotus, acting as if it were real, Penelope almost laughed. Lola was indeed capable, no matter how malicious her actions were, she always managed to shift the blame onto others.
Gianna was also shocked by Lola, this flourishing white lotus. After calming down for a while, she spoke with a face full of admiration, "Ms. Hilliard, as expected of a super best actress, this acting skill, I admire, admire!"
"Ms. Hilliard, I have a blunt truth to tell, I'm not sure if it's appropriate to say it?"
Without waiting for Lola's permission, Gianna continued, "Ms. Hilliard, your acting skills, when applied to work, are a good thing. After all, as an actress, you have to rely on your acting skills. But if you apply these acting skills to your life, it can be quite off-putting."
"On and off the stage, you were always acting, and I was always tired for you! Ms. Hilliard, I don't know why your acting skills were so superb, all I know is, there were cameras in the banquet hall. Whether you gave me money to deliver the red wine or not, we can check the cameras, everything will be clear."
"Oh, I also knew, you had held the glass for red wine. You asked, should we take the opportunity to test for fingerprints when we were checking the surveillance?"
Gianna's lips curled up into an innocent smile. She pointed at the cup on the bedside table, "Yes, that's the cup! I bet a pack of spicy sticks that it has Ms. Hilliard's fingerprints on it!"
