Chapter 458 The Wedding Takes a Shocking Turn
Zackary's mind was filled with the image of Everett and Penelope, their fingers interlocked, walking away together. He didn't catch what Lola was saying, he just responded absentmindedly.
They were still planning to get their certificate tomorrow...
A fool's talk of dreams!
When Lola saw that he believed her, the corners of her lips coyly lifted.
However, thinking that she originally intended to brutally abuse Penelope today, she didn't expect that they would end up being outsmarted. Her eyes were once again filled with an uncontrollable malice.
Penelope, you dodged it once, you think you're lucky? Do you really think you can escape unscathed every time?! You wish!
The farce had ended, and the onlookers gradually dispersed.
After all, they were here today to attend Kemp and Pennie's wedding, they couldn't confuse priorities.
However, even though the farce had already ended, some ideas had already taken root in the hearts of the onlookers.
Pennie must have been involved with those three men, otherwise, how could they have possibly taken such photos with her!
As for Lola and Mylah...
They didn't dare to be completely certain, however, birds of a feather flock together, and since they were so close with Pennie, they surely couldn't be much better.
It was just that, due to Kemp and Zackary, everyone dared not speak the truth.
After the crowd gradually went to the first floor, outside the restroom, only Zackary, Lola, Isabella, and Cornelia were left.
Zackary's brows were tightly knitted, his face as dark as ink.
He was very sad inside.
He always felt that as long as Everett and Penelope's marriage was unknown to everyone, they would not be together. But now, their marriage was known to all, as if in an instant, everyone in the world had acknowledged that Penelope was Everett's woman.
This feeling made him so upset that he wished he could tear out his own heart. Although he was invincible and successful in the business world, he didn't know how to maintain a lasting and thriving relationship.
"Zackary, I didn't know those three men, I don't understand why they suddenly bit me. I've never offended them, I really can't figure out why they would frame me like this!"
Hearing Lola's aggrieved sobbing, Zackary finally snapped back to reality. He spoke with a hint of fatigue, "Lola, I believe you, I won't let you be framed for nothing!"
"Lola, are you done?!" Isabella, who had been standing by, couldn't stand Lola's act any longer. "Who cares to frame you, a white lotus like you?! If you do nothing wrong, you won't be afraid of ghosts knocking at your door! Why didn't those three men insist that I, Isabella, was involved with them?!"
"Isabella!" Zackary spoke harshly, "I won't allow you to speak about Lola like that!"
"Hah! You won't allow it?! Zackary, are you planning to disown your own sister for a white lotus? Fine, I can't be bothered with you! Just keep being played by this white lotus! I'll see if you end up crying in the bathroom!"
"I'm so pissed off!" Isabella became angrier as she spoke. She grabbed Cornelia's arm, "Mommy, let's go! Let him be fooled to death by this white lotus!"
Cornelia watched Zackary's incessant defense of Lola with growing irritation. She shot the little rascal a fierce glare before quickly heading down to the lobby.
Watching the furious backs of Cornelia and Isabella, Lola's tears started to roll down her cheeks again, drop by drop.
"Zackary, I'm sorry, I've put you in a difficult position again. I really don't know what I've done wrong, why Aunt Cornelia and Isabella dislike me so much. I've really tried hard, I've tried to win their favor, but no matter how hard I try, they seem to like my sister more."
"Zackary, I'm really sorry, I truly didn't want to affect the relationship between you, Isabella, and Aunt Cornelia. I'm sorry, I'm sorry..."
"Lola, you were not wrong."
Zackary gently pulled Lola into his arms, "It was Penelope, she was too cunning, deceiving my mom and second sister."
Lola was still shedding tears non-stop, but the corners of her lips couldn't help but lift slightly.
As long as Zackary stood by her side, even if the Spencer family preferred Penelope, she wouldn't be afraid. Their favoritism towards Penelope would only hasten her death!
Soon, the wedding ceremony began.
Kemp stood at the end of the red carpet, Pennie's father, Waylon Rogers, pushed her wheelchair, accompanying her down the long red carpet, placing her small hand into his.
Kemp gently squeezed her small hand, then slowly let go, pushing her wheelchair from one side, together they headed towards the luxuriously and exquisitely decorated stage.
The wedding host had already taken the stage.
The host of this wedding, who had been famous for many years, was well-known in the Goldwald family. Seeing that familiar smile on the stage, a smile so familiar it couldn't be more so, the guests at the scene couldn't help but sigh in admiration once again.
Mr. Kemp was so fond of Pennie that he even invited this heavyweight host.
So what if Pennie was embroiled in scandal! With Mr. Kemp's world-shaking love, she remained one of the most prestigious women in Sea City!
Many socialites at the scene looked at Pennie on the stage with full of envy. Who wouldn't want to marry a man who truly loves them, let alone a man who is stunningly handsome and extremely wealthy.
"Let's give a warm welcome to the two newcomers! Our handsome groom, and our sweet and beautiful bride!"
The heavyweight host truly lived up to his title. The wedding venue was filled with constant applause. His hosting style was humorous yet moving. Many people at the scene laughed out loud, only to shed tears of emotion afterwards.
Some of Pennie's actions were rather disgusting, but after they were portrayed with deep emotion by the heavyweight host, everyone unanimously felt that their relationship was exceptionally touching.
Soon, it was time for the wedding vows.
The host looked at Pennie, who was sitting in a wheelchair, with a charming and attractive smile, "Beautiful bride, would you like to marry our handsome groom, whether rich or poor, in health or sickness, whether the road ahead is smooth or full of thorns, would you be willing to stick with him through thick and thin, in life and death?"
"I was willing!"
Pennie nodded vigorously, tears welling up in her eyes. How could she not be willing? She had been longing for this day for so many days and nights! At this moment, she wished she could tell the whole world how happy she was, and how much she loved the man beside her!
"Handsome groom, did you agree to take our bride, whether in wealth or in poverty, in good times or in adversity, in joy or in sorrow, in life and in death, in this life and the next, were you willing to hold her hand, never to let go?"
Kemp moved his lips, but before he could speak, the loudspeaker on the stage suddenly emitted an extremely sharp sound.
"Daxton, let me go! If you dare to treat me like this, I won't let you off!"
