Chapter 451 The Wedding
That feeling of sourness and pain in her eyes came rushing back, unstoppable. Penelope took a deep breath, trying to maintain her calm and composed demeanor, but she was just too weak. As she inhaled, a pain began to throb in her chest.
She really hadn't expected that he so desperately wanted her dead.
However, no matter how much he wished for her to die and reincarnate sooner, she did not want to die yet.
The shorter her life was, the more she wanted to cherish every minute and every second of the end of her life.
She hadn't yet kept her promise to marry Everett, she hadn't seen Lyman get better, she hadn't properly said goodbye to Ethan and Kemp, she didn't want to die just like that.
Yes, at that moment, her life was in Zackary's hands, she no longer had control over her own life and death.
Penelope slowly closed her eyes, quietly waiting for the arrival of death.
The bloodlust in Zackary's eyes grew increasingly intense. He stared fixedly at Penelope, his fierce and ruthless expression seeming to suggest that he wanted to cruelly devour her flesh and blood, inch by inch.
This wicked woman, she really deserved to die!
Years ago, she hired a hitman to kill Ralph so they could live together. Now, in order to marry Everett without any obstacles, she hired another hitman to kill him with a vase.
In the end, she did not succeed, but caused Lola to lose a kidney and endure endless pain.
This woman, dying a thousand times, even ten thousand times, would not be too much!
But, he couldn't bring himself to do it.
Even though he knew he should have killed her, for his own sake and to seek justice for Lola, he just couldn't bring himself to do it!
Zackary listlessly released the force he had exerted on Penelope. He hooked his lips into a thin, cold smile, his crimson eyes filled with self-loathing.
Finally free, Penelope quickly ran several steps to the side, away from the window and away from Zackary.
Her body ached, but she couldn't pinpoint exactly where. Penelope had to lean against a nearby wall just to keep herself upright.
"Mr. Spencer, I knew you wanted me dead."
"However, there was no need for you to become a murderer for my sake."
Penelope had thought that they would each go their separate ways, no longer having anything to do with each other, and she would no longer feel sad for him. But recalling the scene where he had viciously tried to kill her just a while ago, her heart still ached with a throbbing pain.
That heart, it was as if it was sick.
"Mr. Spencer, I am going to die. You will get your wish soon,"
After saying this, she clenched the bag in her hand and staggered towards the staircase on the side. She was in such a hurry that she forgot to wait for the elevator and went straight down the stairs, step by step.
As she was going down the stairs, a wave of dizziness hit Penelope and she almost fell to the ground.
She quickly poured out a few more pills, chewed them up, and swallowed them. Only then did the dizzy feeling lighten a bit.
Now, the effectiveness of these medicines was becoming shorter and shorter. She thought that when these medicines could no longer work on her body, she would probably be dead.
After Penelope left, Zackary still stood motionless in front of the window.
He didn't know why, but upon hearing Penelope just said that she would die and he would soon get what he wished for, a dull pain started throbbing in his chest again.
He kept telling himself that this was just another trick played by that woman, how could she possibly bear to die! But the pain, it was still getting more and more intense.
Zackary pressed hard against his chest, his fist slamming heavily into the windowsill beside him.
Penelope, whether you were dead or alive, you were not to disturb my heart again!
Never even think about it!
Penelope hadn't expected to see Pennie on the set today.
Pennie was thrown off the cliff by Kemp, the fall was quite tragic. She thought she would have to stay in the hospital for at least a couple of months. However, to her surprise, she only stayed in the hospital for a week before returning to the film crew.
Pennie was indeed malicious and hypocritical, but setting aside these, she was indeed a very dedicated actress.
She was able to secure a place in the entertainment industry, not only with Kemp's help, but also due to her own hard work.
She sat in a wheelchair, both of her legs in casts. However, some scenes only required filming the upper body, so she could still shoot a few scenes like this.
Upon seeing Penelope, Pennie turned her wheelchair and moved in her direction.
"Penelope, you came!"
Seeing Pennie's sweet yet passionate little face, Penelope felt a wave of nausea.
Actually, she sometimes really admired Pennie. No matter what happened, she never forgot to frame her, but she could still affectionately call her Penelope on ordinary days without feeling disgusted!
"Hmm." After all, they were on set, and Penelope didn't want to argue with Pennie in front of so many people. She responded lightly and then lowered her head to look at the script in her hand.
"Penelope, Kemp and I were going to have a wedding."
A sense of uncontrollable pride radiated from Pennie's face, "You know, in the past, I only got a certificate with Kemp, we didn't have a wedding. But recently, Kemp has been planning our wedding."
"He said, 'Tomorrow, I will give you a grand wedding. Penelope, this is our wedding invitation, you must come then!'"
"Penelope, I know, there have been many misunderstandings between us, but after all, we grew up together. If I don't get your blessing, I will be very disappointed."
"Penelope, Kemp and I both hoped to receive your sincerest blessings! Penelope, would you come to bless us tomorrow?"
Penelope lowered her gaze, looking at the gold-embossed invitation in her hand, which bore the wedding photo of Pennie and Kemp.
This wedding photo, it was clearly photoshopped at first glance.
Pennie really, really wanted her most disliked Penelope to see her luxurious wedding. She was afraid that she would refuse to attend her wedding, so she quickly spoke up, "Penelope, I've invited all our colleagues from the drama group. Everyone said they would come. If you don't come, it would really embarrass me!"
"I will attend," Penelope said lightly, lifting her gaze from the wedding invitation in front of her.
After being harmed by Pennie so many times, during her most painful and embarrassing moments, how regrettable it would be if she didn't witness it!
"Really?" Pennie's face instantly lit up with a smile, "Penelope, let's make it a deal, we must meet tomorrow, no excuses!"
Penelope didn't speak, she just glanced at the severed finger on her left hand with a smile that wasn't quite a smile.
She was a dying woman, missing a finger, but it didn't really matter.
But if it hadn't been for Pennie's instigation, Kemp wouldn't have taken Ethan hostage to the seaside, let alone cause Ethan such distress that he can't even speak now.
She was really looking forward to seeing how miserable Pennie would be at the wedding tomorrow!
On the eve of Kemp and Pennie's wedding, the annual Starlight Ceremony was held in Sea City.
Although Pennie was embroiled in scandals, with Kemp's strong support, she still managed to win the highly prestigious Annual Popular Actress award at the ceremony.
At the award ceremony, the stars shone brightly. Even in a wheelchair, Pennie still radiated brilliance.
Penelope was coolly watching a live stream on her phone on the set, Pennie had announced her wedding the next day at the awards ceremony, she had indeed become the most noticeable leading lady at the event.
Watching Pennie's triumphant smile in the video, Penelope just found it hilarious.
Pennie, did you know, the higher you are held, the harder you will fall?
