Chapter 450 Mr. Zackary Saw Penelope Off

Zackary's heart tightened, and for a moment, he could hardly breathe.

After experiencing heart-wrenching pain, he couldn't help but sneer in disdain.

It was late-stage stomach cancer again!

That woman, really had no originality at all, always using the damn excuse of late-stage stomach cancer! Now, she even deceived her own mother!

What was even more ridiculous was that, knowing full well that this was just another trick played by that woman, he was still so upset that he couldn't breathe.

Cornelia was so upset that she cried, and seeing Zackary still laughing, she was angry enough to want to beat him to death.

She knew Jayden was stronger than her, but today, she was just too angry. If she didn't beat him up herself, she wouldn't be satisfied!

Cornelia snatched the feather duster from Jayden's hand and fiercely addressed Zackary, "Zackary, Penelope is so sick and you're still laughing?! You heartless bastard, if I don't beat you to death today, I'll call your mother!"

"Mommy, Penelope couldn't possibly have had late-stage stomach cancer!"

Zackary stood still, not moving an inch, letting Cornelia hit him over and over again. It was as if she wasn't hitting him, but rather, insensate plants and trees.

"That woman, Penelope, she's always been full of tricks. She's faked having late-stage stomach cancer multiple times before. I can't believe, this time, she even dared to deceive you, Mom!"

Cornelia was so angry that her teeth were chattering. Look, what kind of damn thing had she given birth to!

Late-stage stomach cancer, this deadly disease, who could pretend to have it?!

A feather duster hit Zackary's back hard. Cornelia gritted her teeth and said, "Zackary, Penelope was not faking her illness! I personally took her pulse. Are you doubting my medical skills?!"

"Penelope's pulse was utterly weak, it would be a miracle if she could survive another half month!"

Zackary's body suddenly shuddered, and for a moment, his heart ached as if a steel claw had been thrust into it, ruthlessly tearing it apart and grinding it to dust.

He naturally wouldn't have doubted Cornelia's medical skills.

His mother was one of the most formidable traditional medicine practitioners of her time. When she took someone's pulse, it was impossible for her to be wrong.

But, he didn't believe Penelope.

In this vast world, nothing is impossible. There are medicines to cure diseases, and there are medicines to feign diseases. Who knows if Penelope, that woman with ill intentions, had taken some kind of medicine to deliberately mislead Cornelia when she was taking her pulse!

If Penelope really had late-stage stomach cancer, she would have at most half a month to live. How could she still be able to work properly on the film set!

He had seen patients in the late stages of stomach cancer, who were emaciated and bedridden, completely unable to take care of themselves. They were nothing like Penelope's arrogant and malicious demeanor!

Penelope was still to marry Everett, and in order to become the mistress of the Murray family, she even wanted to kill him.

After death, all wealth and glory become void. If she was truly on the brink of death, how could she, for the sake of wealth and glory, resort to hiring a killer to commit murder?!

Penelope, she was really amazing!

Faking illness couldn't fool him, killing him also failed, now, is the target being shifted to his mother?!

The pain in my heart gradually faded away, replaced only by an unspeakable disgust and anger.

"Mommy, Penelope won't die! That woman is so wicked, she wouldn't allow herself to die! Mommy, I don't want you to be deceived by her again!"

"Zackary!" Cornelia reached out her hand, pointing at Zackary angrily, "You go apologize to Penelope!"

"Mommy, the one who should apologize is Penelope!"

"She tried to kill me over and over again, she even caused Lola to be covered in wounds, she deserves to die a thousand times!"

"Mom, don't say Penelope doesn't have late-stage stomach cancer, even if she really does, she deserves it even if she dies!"

"The sins she committed, she should pay for with her life! She should have died long ago!"

Having said that, Zackary turned around and walked towards the living room without looking back.

Cornelia was so furious that she felt like she was going to cough up blood, her whole body trembling uncontrollably. Jayden had originally wanted to catch up and give Zackary a good beating, but he was genuinely worried about his wife. So, he carefully carried her to the couch.

"Cornelia, don't be angry anymore, it hurts me when you're upset."

"I gave birth to this bastard, I deserve to be furious!" Cornelia pressed her chest several times before she felt slightly relieved.

"Listen to this, what the hell is that little bastard saying?! That Penelope should have died a long time ago?! I think he's the one who should be dead!"

"No one knows a child better than their mother," Zackary said through gritted teeth. How could Cornelia not see his obvious insincerity?

He cared about Penelope, more than they could ever imagine.

He spoke so confidently now, but when Penelope was really gone, I'm afraid, this little bastard of her family would be half-dead if not completely.

"This little bastard, and Dalton too..."

Cornelia said, tears starting to fall again, "They will regret treating Penelope like this, sooner or later!"

"What would Chelsea do if Penelope was gone! I failed Penelope, I failed Chelsea..."

"Cornelia, it wasn't your fault, everything will get better, it will all get better."

Jayden held Cornelia tightly in his arms, gently comforting her over and over again. He was the wisest of all, having understood everything just by listening to the conversation between Cornelia and Zackary.

A rare hint of worry surfaced in his eyes.

If Penelope was really gone, I'm afraid, the world would be turned upside down!

Hopefully, all of this, wasn't as bad as he thought.

Penelope was feeling particularly unwell today. After taking twice the usual dose of the medicine Xavier had prepared for her, her body finally didn't feel as heavy.

She simply ate something, picked up her bag, and headed out of the small apartment.

As soon as she opened the door to the small apartment, she saw Zackary standing outside.

Zackary's eyes were filled with bloodshot veins, indicating that he hadn't slept all night.

Penelope didn't know what craziness Zackary was up to this time. Every encounter with him was far from pleasant. She gripped the door handle tightly, intending to close the door and wait for him to leave before she would go out.

Even though her body wasn't as heavy, Penelope's actions were still somewhat slow.

She hadn't even locked the door when Zackary yanked her out and roughly pinned her against the nearby wall.

"Penelope, you were really amazing!"

"Mr. Spencer, please let me go, I have things to do."

It was as if Zackary hadn't heard Penelope's words at all. He still held her shoulders tightly, "Penelope, you can't fool me. You ran to my mom pretending to have late-stage stomach cancer?! Penelope, if you want to play the victim, why the hell don't you just go die?!"

Penelope understood that Cornelia had revealed her late-stage stomach cancer in front of Zackary.

Unfortunately, he still didn't believe.

Don't believe, then don't believe, after all, she had already gotten used to it long ago.

The pain in Penelope's eyes quickly faded away. She lifted her chin, maintaining her usual nonchalant demeanor. "Mr. Spencer, if you came here today just to tell me to drop dead, I've heard you. You can leave now!"

Zackary didn't speak immediately. Suddenly, he forcefully yanked her towards the hallway window. "Penelope, you like playing the victim, don't you?! Fine, I'll send you on your way now, let you play to your heart's content!"
