Chapter 372 Kemp Regained His Memory
Zack, Kemp, let's not meet again in the next life.
"Penelope, Zackary almost ran over my Penny for you tonight!"
The sky had already begun to brighten when, just as Penelope thought she was about to die of discomfort, Kemp suddenly leaned over and viciously gripped her chin.
"Alright, you like hitting people, don't you? Today, I'm going to let you taste what it feels like to be hit to death!"
Got hit to death...
Penelope struggled to lift her eyelids. In fact, for her broken body, death would have been the best outcome.
She was just afraid that Ethan, Lyman, Corona, and Everett would be upset when she was gone.
In the end, she couldn't wait for him to come back and marry her.
She could give him nothing, yet she still greedily desired his protection for those she cared about. In her life, the person she had let down the most was him.
Mr. Murray, in my next life, I will repay you by becoming a horse!
"Penelope, you spoke to me!"
Just as he was deeply immersed in his own thoughts, Kemp's voice erupted angrily in the air again.
Penelope struggled to keep her eyes open, looking at Kemp with some confusion. Hadn't he already decided to kill her? What else was there to say?
"Kemp, I only wish, you keep your word, after my death, you spare Ethan."
Kemp thought that when he threatened to kill her, she would beg for mercy. However, to his surprise, she was so calm and fearless.
He knew she deserved to die, but for some reason, seeing her so desperate to die, he felt an indescribable discomfort in his heart.
It seemed as though a heart, which had been living peacefully there, wanted to burst out, fall to the ground, shatter, and disappear.
"Alright, Penelope, since you're so eager to die, I'll send you on your way right now!"
Saying this, Kemp quickened his pace, his long legs striding out straight. He headed towards his black sports car not far away.
He got in the car, slowly stepped on the accelerator, and the black supercar gradually approached in Penelope's direction.
Kemp didn't know what was wrong with him. He hated Penelope to death, hated her cruelty towards him and Pennie. He felt she deserved to die, but for some reason, as his car got closer and closer to her, he found it hard to bring himself to end her life.
Even seeing her fall to the ground weakly and haggardly, he had an urge to get out of the car, hold her tightly in his arms, and take her to the hospital.
Waiting for death always made people somewhat fearful.
Penelope knew she was undoubtedly going to die, she didn't even dare to hope that she could survive the night. But to fall so disgracefully on the ground, waiting for death to slowly approach, the feeling was like being tortured.
Rather, she should have taken the initiative to crash into it, to end all this sooner. Ethan could have been pulled up earlier, sparing him some pain and torment.
Goodbye, Ethan.
Lyman, Corona, Mr. Murray, goodbye.
Zack, we finally, can never see each other again.
Kemp, even at this point, I still don't blame you. Even if you now stand before me like a demon, the person you once were still remains the most precious warmth in Ethan's and my life.
You made a mistake, but you were bound to make mistakes, simply because you forgot about me and Ethan.
When a person passed away, all those love and hatred, they all went with the wind...
Just now, Kemp's bodyguards were all persistently stuffing things into her mouth, but now, no one was restraining her body.
She mustered all her strength, stood up, and fiercely charged towards Kemp's sports car.
Kemp's car, initially moving extremely slowly, reflected his regret for his soft-heartedness towards Penelope. To prove that he didn't care about her, didn't care about the demon that constantly tormented him and Pennie, he gritted his teeth and slammed the accelerator to the floor.
The sports car, like a flash of lightning, sped towards Penelope in an instant.
Penelope hadn't expected that the speed of Kemp's sports car would suddenly become so fast, but, it was just right.
Just right, decisively and thoroughly ended everything.
Only after Kemp floored the accelerator did he notice that Penelope had already risen and was quickly rushing towards his sports car.
He instinctively wanted to step on the brake, but, it was already too late.
All he could see was her thin body being brutally hit and thrown by his sports car.
Her light purple coat, fluttering like butterfly wings, then fell heavily.
Just like a butterfly with its wings broken, it could no longer fly.
Only the vivid red was everywhere, wildly unrestrained, almost completely engulfing her body.
The sports car came to a sudden halt, Kemp stared fixedly at Penelope, who was lying in a pool of blood outside the car. His eyes, in an instant, were completely filled with the boundless red.
"Some built tall buildings, some shone brightly, some were covered in rust."
"Kemp, you and I, we're not related by blood, but we're more than family. Whether you're shining bright or covered in rust, Ethan and I will always stand by you!"
Who was it? Who was speaking?!
Kemp looked around in confusion, he wanted to find the woman who was speaking to him, but he couldn't find her no matter how hard he tried.
"Kemp, you would stand up, one day, you would stand up!"
"Kemp, you had to stand up!"
Before Kemp's eyes, the vast expanse of fog appeared again, only this time, the fog no longer continuously obscured the woman's face.
The fog gradually cleared, and he finally saw the scene inside the dungeon, and also saw the face of his Penny.
He saw Penelope, holding Ethan in her arms, sitting quietly beside him. His face was very different from the one he had seen in the mirror recently.
Now, his face always carried an intimidating coldness that kept people at bay, but back then, his face was as warm and gentle as the finest jade.
He and Penelope were singing the birthday song for Ethan together.
He said, "Ethan, happy birthday. For every birthday you have in the future, Uncle Kemp will be there with you to celebrate."
Ethan, Penny, the three of us, we were to be together forever and ever.
The scene was like a movie, frame by frame, quickly flipping through.
Penelope must have gone to the small kitchen that the person who later watched over them had vacated for them. In the dungeon, it was only him and Ethan.
Ethan leaned towards him, a smile playing on his lips as he began to speak, "Uncle Kemp, I heard from my mom that everyone likes to call her Penelope, or Ms. Sullivan. Why do you insist on calling my mom Penny?"
Because, your mother, was the only honey in my life.
The only honey...
Kemp's eyes suddenly widened, he stared intently at Penelope, who was motionless in the pool of blood. His blood-stained eyes seemed to be in such pain that they were about to bleed.
The only honey in his life was not Pennie, it was Penelope!
In the dungeon, for four years they depended on each other for life and death, watched over and helped each other. It wasn't Pennie, it was Penelope!
But what about him?
What did he do to his Penny?!
He forgot her, he mistook her for someone else, and he, with his own hands, pushed her into irretrievable doom.
He, ruined her!
