Chapter 31 Penelope, Who Cut Off Your Finger?
"Let go... Let go of me..."
Although Zackary had completely abandoned her, Penelope still didn't want him to see her ugly hand.
Her left hand was limp, so she reached out her right hand and tried with great difficulty to grab her left hand back from Zackary's grip, but how could her little strength compare to Zackary's?
In addition, her blood made the bandages stick to her skin. Zackary pulled them so hard that she felt indescribable pain. She lost all her strength.
Seeing Penelope trying so eagerly to grab her hand back, Zackary smiled sarcastically.
He thought, "What a hypocritical woman!
"She must be afraid that I will see through her trick!"
Zackary suddenly ripped the bandages off Penelope's hand.
Penelope's body twitched uncontrollably in pain, her heart trembling.
"Penelope, now I'd like to see how you can pretend to be pitiful..."
Zackary's voice came to an abrupt end as he clutched Penelope's wrist hard. He stared incredulously at the wound on her hand as if to see through her bloody disguise.
But no matter how he stared at Penelope's hand, he couldn't find her pinky finger. The wound on her hand opened up again, and the pus and blood kept flowing.
Zackary's eyes turned red. He gripped Penelope's wrist harder, almost crushing it.
He suddenly got up and grasped her shoulders, and in his furious and terrifying voice, there was imperceptible pity.
"Penelope, where's your pinky? Where is it?
"Tell me who cut off your pinky. Say it, Penelope."
Zackary shook Penelope's body as hard as he could, and then he realized that she had fainted from the pain.
"Penelope!"
Zackary didn't dare to delay. He directly picked her up in his arms and rushed outside the small apartment.
He was in such a hurry that he forgot to take the elevator and instead ran down the stairs.
"It hurts..."
Penelope suddenly made a weak sound. Zackary's arms involuntarily tightened, and he said almost subconsciously, "It won't hurt soon. When we get to the hospital, it won't hurt anymore."
"Zack, it hurts..."
Penelope seemed as if she hadn't heard Zackary's voice, just murmuring, "Zack, my heart aches..."
Hearing Penelope cry out in pain, Zackary was heartbroken.
He thought, "This woman betrayed me and killed our two children. She owes me two lives. I hate her so much that I want to kill her. Yet only I can torture her. Anyone who dares to hurt her is unforgivable!"
On the way, Zackary called Samuel Colon, his special assistant. Samuel was very efficient. When they went to the hospital, he had already arranged for the best expert to treat Penelope.
As soon as Zackary saw the expert in the white coat, he went forward and grumpily yanked the expert by the collar. "She's hurt! She's in pain! Quickly cure her."
The expert looked scared. He quietly glanced at Penelope, who was placed on the bed. Her wound was bloody. How could it not hurt?
Despite this, he respectfully said to Zackary, "Mr. Spencer, don't worry. I will definitely make this young lady's injury heal as soon as possible."
"I want her to stand in front of me in perfect condition. Otherwise, I will not spare you."
The expert shivered and wiped away the cold sweat on his forehead. He thought, "She has lost her pinky finger. How can I make her stand in front of Mr. Spencer in perfect condition?
"Mr. Spencer's request is unreasonable."
The expert did not dare to refute Zackary's words directly. He could only say cautiously, "Mr. Spencer, is this lady's severed finger still there? If so, I may be able to replant it. If not..."
The expert didn't continue, but he believed that everyone knew what he wanted to say.
A human hand was not a sapling that would have another branch after one was broken. If the severed finger was gone, Penelope would lose a finger forever.
"Mr. Spencer, where is Ms. Sullivan's severed finger? Is it in Horse House? I will go there now to get it," Samuel, whose forehead was also sweating, said tentatively to Zackary.
Zackary and Penelope were secretly married. No one else knew about it, except for Samuel, Zackary's senior special assistant.
Samuel had worked for Zackary since he returned from abroad after graduation, so Samuel couldn't be clearer about the love-hate relationship between Zackary and Penelope. Samuel also knew that Zackary had been torturing Penelope in all kinds of ways. He thought, "Mr. Spencer actually cut off Mr. Sullivan's finger."
Samuel quietly glanced at Zackary. He used to think that Zackary and Penelope were just in a love-hate relationship. Samuel thought, "Why did Mr. Spencer begin to injure Ms. Sullivan?
"He even severed her finger. That's outrageous!
"Mr. Spencer is such a pervert."
Samuel nervously grasped the cell phone. He was hesitant about whether to report it to the Spencer family, but when he met Zackary's menacing eyes, he put the cell phone back in fear.
"No need to go to Horse House," Zackary finally answered.
Samuel shivered violently again.
He thought, "Does Mr. Spencer want to kill Ms. Sullivan after cutting off her finger?
"He's too perverted!"
Samuel was afraid of Zackary, but he was even more afraid that Zackary would kill Penelope and that the Spencer family would blame him, so he broke out in a cold sweat while reminding Zackary, "Mr. Spencer, I know you hate Ms. Sullivan, but it was perverted to cut off her finger. If you go on like this, you will have mental problems. You will..."
Zackary cast a stern glance at Samuel, who sensibly shut his mouth. Samuel thought, "You will become a pervert."
Zackary was now worried about Penelope's injury, and he didn't bother to explain to Samuel that he wasn't the one who had injured Penelope.
The expert had already restitched Penelope's wound. He patted himself on the back and assured Zackary that the wound would never reopen and get inflamed again as long as Penelope applied the medicine he prescribed on time.
The expert said it had been too long since Penelope's finger was cut off for the surgery to be successful even if they found the severed finger, but Zackary still wanted to give it a try.
He knew Penelope cared about her appearance the most. How could such a young woman be left with a lifelong disability?
Maybe she would hide under the covers, secretly crying hard.
Penelope's current physical condition was really terrible. Every time she passed out, she had the feeling that she would never wake up again.
This time, it took almost all of her willpower to open her eyes in the evening.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Zackary's handsome face close to her. He grabbed her wrist, his eyes even more bloodshot.
"Penelope, where's your severed finger?"
Penelope thought, "Severed finger..."
"It was fed to a dog," Penelope said expressionlessly.
Zackary thought, "Fed to a dog?"
His pupils suddenly shrank. There was obvious shock and pain in his eyes. He tightened his grip on Penelope's wrist. "Penelope, who the hell cut off your finger?"
