Chapter 302 They all said, "Ethan fell down, how stupid!"

After throwing these words at Zackary, Ethan was instantly filled with fighting spirit from head to toe.

People were always contradictory and strange.

Take Ethan for example, he was angry with Zackary, yet at the same time, he wanted to prove himself in front of his father. He wanted to show that he wasn't as bad as his father imagined. Even if he was lame, as long as he was willing to work hard, he could excel, he could win the championship.

Take Zackary for example, he was berating Ethan, calling him a stupid cripple, full of sarcasm and mockery, yet at the same time, he was also filled with pride for his own son.

His Ethan was very strong and brave. He believed in him, believed that he could win the championship of this sports meeting. However, he would absolutely never say these words in front of Penelope and Ethan.

In the past, the kindergarten had organized quite a few activities, but this kind of parent-child sports meeting was held for the first time.

To be honest, Penelope was a bit nervous inside.

She could sense that Ethan really wanted to win the championship to prove himself to Zackary. Everett was incredibly athletic, which made her a bit worried that she might hold them back.

Although Everett said he was free today, in fact, he was still quite busy. As soon as he arrived at the playground, he received a phone call and went aside to answer it.

Penelope and Ethan walked into the sports field, nervously doing their warm-up exercises.

Penelope was quite famous now, but she wasn't worried about attending this parent-child event and having the fact that she had a child exposed.

This kindergarten was actually considered an aristocratic one, with many of the children's parents being celebrities from various fields. Everyone had an unspoken agreement not to take random photos or spread all sorts of messy news. Parent-child activities were truly just about accompanying the children in their play, unrelated to fame or profit.

When Penelope initially decided to enter the entertainment industry, she thought a lot in advance. If she became famous, there would certainly be media digging into her private life. Even if this kindergarten was more expensive, at least it could protect Ethan from being harassed. The money spent was worth it.

Ethan was more nervous than Penelope. He had talked tough to Zackary, but he knew deep down, winning the championship today wouldn't be that easy.

He had been persistently working hard to exercise his body, but due to his lame leg, his innate conditions were far worse than other children. No matter how hard he tried, he still lagged far behind the others.

Even though his physical condition was poor, he still wanted to try hard to prove to Zackary that he wasn't as bad as he imagined.

Ethan pursed his lips, his fists clenched, running quickly around the field. However, due to his limp, his running was indescribably comical, and he couldn't speed up no matter what.

Moreover, there were several times when he almost fell to the ground.

At today's sports meeting, there was an event where a family had to run a kilometer together. Ethan had practiced for quite a while, sweating profusely, but still found it somewhat difficult to run even a hundred meters.

Penelope stood still, staring intently at the stubborn-faced Ethan. Seeing his frail body struggling to move forward, her eyes welled up, almost shedding tears.

Her Ethan, he was truly wonderful. She couldn't understand why God would let such a lovely child endure so much hardship.

Watching Ethan, clearly exhausted yet still gritting his teeth and persisting with his workout, Penelope really wanted to rush up to him, hold him tightly, and tell him that even if they lost today, it was okay, it really was okay.

Thinking of the little thoughts in Ethan's heart, in the end, Penelope still suppressed this impulse, just trying to raise a bright smile, accompanying Ethan in his workout, cheering him on.

"Bang!"

Ethan's body suddenly fell heavily to the ground. Penelope noticed that it was a tall, thin boy who had deliberately stuck out his foot to trip him.

Penelope truly thought that the little boy's misbehavior was excessive, but now, she was more concerned about Ethan's condition. She didn't bother arguing with him, instead, she rushed over and tightly embraced Ethan.

"Ethan, how are you? Did you fall anywhere?"

The sound of Ethan falling just now was so painful to hear that it made Penelope's heart clench.

"Mom, I'm fine," Ethan spoke softly, not wanting to worry Penelope.

Penelope didn't believe Ethan's words. She grabbed his hand abruptly, and sure enough, a large patch of skin had been rubbed off the palm of his right hand.

"Ethan, I'm taking you to your school's infirmary!" said Penelope, as she carried Ethan towards the outside of the sports field.

There was nearly an hour left before the start of the sports meeting. They were heading to the medical room now, which wouldn't delay the sports meeting later.

"A stupid and clumsy cripple, wanting to participate in the sports meet, really brought shame to our class!"

Penelope had just taken a few steps holding Ethan when the voice of the little boy who tripped Ethan rang out confidently behind them.

Penelope stiffened, she couldn't help but stop in her tracks, turn around, and look at the little boy.

The little boy, Niko Larson, didn't feel he had done anything wrong at all. He held his chin high with an air of superiority, "Ethan, I'm warning you for the last time! Withdraw from the school sports meet voluntarily, or else, you'll face the consequences!"

"Ethan is not stupid or foolish! He is good! His leg will get better, and he will not disgrace anyone!" Penelope couldn't help but speak out when she saw the gloom and inferiority in Ethan's eyes.

"Today, he wouldn't quit the sports meet either, he would perform very well!"

"Penelope, who gave you the right to bully my son?!" No sooner had Penelope's words fallen than a sharp, harsh female voice entered her ears.

That woman, whom she knew, was one of Lola's best girlfriends, Teresa.

Back in high school, Penelope used to share a desk with Teresa, but because she was too close to Lola, she was always setting traps for her, and they were always at odds.

Teresa was doing pretty well in the entertainment industry, her status was about the same as Pennie's, they could both be considered second-tier.

She was dressed beautifully today, in a pure white fur coat, with an expensive diamond watch on her wrist. The diamond necklace around her neck sparkled, and a pair of ruby earrings hung from her ears, adding the perfect finishing touch. One look and you could tell she was very wealthy.

Teresa got married early. It was said that she dated a rich second-generation boyfriend in high school. After failing the college entrance examination, she directly married into a wealthy family.

Teresa lifted her eyes, staring coldly at Penelope. There was no trace of warmth that one might expect from old classmates meeting again, only a deep-seated disgust.

She really hated Penelope, she hated her from the moment she first saw her.

Penelope was too beautiful! She thought she was not bad-looking and was even the school beauty in junior high. However, after meeting Penelope in high school, she finally understood what it meant to compare oneself to others and feel inferior.

Moreover, the man she secretly loved, no matter how hard she tried, was unwilling to give her a second glance. The only one he longed for was Penelope.

Even now, though she was already married with children, she still hated Penelope with a vengeance whenever she thought about that devastating unrequited love.

"Penelope, you're an adult, what's so great about bullying a child?!" Teresa's voice rose several degrees, instantly attracting the attention of many people, "You've really gone too far! Today, you must apologize to my son!"
