Chapter 287 Kneel Down, Lick It Clean!

"Penelope, how are you?" Bexley knew about Penelope's illness, and seeing her in this state, she couldn't help but feel worried.

"I'm fine," Penelope spoke softly, "Bexley, let's discuss work matters first."

Penelope used to call Bexley "Senior Sister", but she disliked this title because it made her feel old. So, she later changed to calling her Bexley.

Bexley actually wanted Penelope to go to the hospital to treat her wrist first, but seeing her so stubborn, they decided to discuss work first.

The partners who entered the private room together were all close friends of Bexley. They were all righteous young people who originally liked Penelope. Seeing her being bullied, they were instantly filled with righteous indignation.

For the first half hour of the advertisement discussion, they were almost entirely criticizing Kemp.

They originally had a good impression of Kemp.

After all, who wouldn't like a handsome and wealthy man!

However, it was only after truly meeting him that I realized, this so-called "Diamond King Fifth", was so arrogant and unreasonable. Did he really think that having money meant he could do whatever he wanted?!

Even if they were wealthy, some people had their own principles and would not allow themselves to be manipulated by his unspoken rules.

In their eyes, Penelope was the brave girl who courageously refused to be manipulated by hidden rules, especially when she finally threw the money in his face, which was so cool that it almost turned them gay.

Penelope had initially thought that they would look down on her for being bullied by Kemp. Unexpectedly, she received countless compliments in the box, which eventually made her feel somewhat embarrassed.

A group of people shared common interests and values, so naturally, they found their work discussions to be incredibly enjoyable.

By the time the advertising plan was finalized, it was already late at night. Bexley and her team still had to return to the studio, while Penelope planned to take a taxi directly back to her small apartment.

Penelope couldn't drink alcohol, so she drank quite a lot of water that night. Before leaving, she wanted to go to the restroom first.

Before she even reached the restroom, Penelope had already seen Linda and Corona in the hallway.

Recently, Corona had been applying a special ointment made by Cornelia every day. However, even though the ointment was effective, it wasn't a miracle cure. She had only been using it for a few days, so it was impossible for the scars on her face to have disappeared.

She wore a disposable mask on her face, yet the grotesque scar stretching out from above the mask was still visible.

Corona was clearly cleaning, dressed in a Lust Club cleaning uniform. Linda's feet were covered in filth, looking as if they had been dragged out of a garbage heap.

"Ah ah ah!"

Linda had been screaming, and upon hearing her screams, Devon rushed out of the booth.

"Linda, what's wrong?!" Devon asked, carefully holding Linda's small hand with a concerned look on his face.

"Devon, I couldn't smell the smoke in the compartment, I wanted to get some air in the corridor, unexpectedly, I ran into Corona."

On Linda's little face, there was a strong sense of grievance, "I thought Corona was having a hard time cleaning here, so I wanted to persuade her to quit and find another job. Unexpectedly, she dumped the trash she had cleaned up on me."

Linda became more and more upset as she spoke, her voice tinged with a heavy sob, "Devon, I'm a cripple, I can't stand up, I can't avoid this trash, so much trash, all piled on me, I feel so dirty, as if, I've become trash too."

Linda's trouser legs and feet were all covered in garbage.

Various dandruff, toilet paper, and some particularly disgusting stains, looked as pitiful as they could be.

Devon furrowed his brows gloomily. At that moment, his pity for Linda was as heavy as his profound disgust for Corona.

"Corona!"

In Devon's voice, there was a chilling cold, "Who allowed you to bully Linda like this?!"

Corona stood quietly in place, her face small, a disposable mask covering most of it. Yet, Penelope could still see the deep sorrow and self-mockery etched on her face.

"Mr. Burke, I didn't bully Linda! I was just cleaning up nicely, and she put her foot into my dustpan."

"Corona, shut up! Linda has mobility issues, how could she possibly put her foot in your garbage shovel so easily!"

Devon furrowed his brows in disgust, "Corona, I don't believe a single word you're saying!"

"Mr. Burke, I know you don't believe me. But even if you don't, I have to say, it was Linda who did it on purpose! She has been deliberately framing me! She is not disabled at all! Her so-called disability is just a pretense!"

"Bang!"

Devon exerted force, a slap landed harshly directly on Corona's face.

The disposable mask was knocked off him, revealing the hideous scars on Corona's face, all exposed to the air.

Her face, already severely disfigured, was further marred by a swollen left cheek, the result of a beating. At that moment, she looked as disheveled as one could possibly be.

"Corona!"

Penelope saw Devon actually hit Corona in public, she was furious. She wanted to help Corona fight back, but alas, she simply couldn't beat Devon.

She could only stand in front of Corona, speaking coldly to him, "Devon, I won't allow you to bully Corona like this! What gives you the right to hit Corona?! Is it because you're a fool, being played around by this malicious woman, Linda?!"

"Penelope!"

Penelope actually dared to insult him by saying he had a hole in his head, Devon couldn't stand it.

He didn't have the patience to waste words with Penelope. He stepped forward, intending to pull her aside directly, so he could severely reprimand Corona.

But Penelope was stubborn, she stood in front of Corona, not giving an inch. She lifted her chin, her eyes mocking, "What, am I wrong?! You believe whatever Linda says, Devon, you're not stupid, what is this?!"

Stupid?!

Devon narrowed his eyes dangerously. In all his years of living, no one had ever dared to call him stupid.

He was no longer willing to endure, he rudely yanked Penelope away, and mercilessly choked Corona's neck.

"Corona, I'm asking you for the last time, why did you dump the trash on Linda? Why did you keep bullying Linda?!"

"Devon, you let go of Corona!"

Devon was strong, his actions ruthless. As he gripped Corona's neck, her small face turned terrifyingly pale.

Penelope, fearing that he had really strangled Corona, steadied herself and stepped forward, intending to pull Devon away.

She had just bumped into Devon, who used force, directly and harshly throwing Penelope onto the ground.

"Penelope!"

Corona was extremely anxious, she wanted to help Penelope up, but her throat was tightly choked by Devon, she couldn't move at all.

Just as she was about to ask Devon to let her go, his chillingly cold voice, devoid of any warmth, resonated in the air.

"Corona, kneel down! Lick the dirt off Linda's feet!" he said, and then he forcefully pushed her down to the ground.
