Chapter 151 Penelope, Willingly Degraded

Upon seeing the disgustingly greasy man in front of her, Penelope was momentarily taken aback.

In her memory, she really hadn't known such a character.

Thinking of the sponsorship agreement that Madelyn had just pulled out of her bag, Penelope instantly understood.

This greasy gentleman should be the Mr. Jett Stevens mentioned in the sponsorship agreement.

The trap set by Lola and Pennie was really one thing after another!

"Penelope, were you tired today? If you were, once we get back, I can give you a good massage," said Jett. As he spoke, a suggestive glint shone in his triangular eyes. Clearly, the massage he referred to was not an ordinary one.

He reached out to grab Penelope's arm, but Penelope quickly dodged, avoiding his unwelcome touch.

"Penelope, what's wrong with you?" Jett asked, his face full of confusion, "You weren't like this before! This month, we've been together every day, you were so passionate towards me, why have you suddenly become so indifferent now?"

"Zackary, I'm not criticizing my sister, but how could she be with such an old man! She's simply ruining herself!" Lola looked genuinely worried for Penelope, "No, I must talk some sense into her. I can't let her degrade herself like this!"

Zackary's face had already been so grim that it was as if he hadn't seen the light of day. Upon hearing Lola's words, his expression became even more gloomy.

The air conditioning in the hall was turned up high, but the people around him suddenly felt the temperature drop several degrees.

"Penelope, you were really amazing!"

Zackary's voice, laden with a chilling coldness, suddenly rang out, a silence that left nothing alive around him, "Penelope, just how many sugar daddies do you have?!"

In front of a large crowd, Penelope really didn't want to argue with Zackary. She didn't even glance at him, but instead spoke to Jett in a polite yet distant manner, "Sir, I don't know you!"

"Penelope, what did you mean by that?!"

Jett looked incredulous, "Penelope, last night, in my bed, you were calling me 'husband' over and over. How could you turn your back on me in the blink of an eye?!"

"Sir, I truly do not know you, let alone call you my husband!" Penelope spoke without any expression.

"Penelope, you couldn't treat me like this!"

When Jett reached out to hold Penelope's hand and was dodged by her again, he instantly became angry out of embarrassment.

He straightened his back, his greasy face smeared with an intimidating air of arrogance.

"Penelope, you had to make things clear to me today! I gave you a hundred thousand a month, provided you with food and drink, what else were you not satisfied with?!"

"Initially, it was you who actively said you wanted to follow me, and when you signed the contract with me, you also said that you would be at my beck and call, give and take. Now, you've become an internet celebrity, you're famous, do you think you can just dump me, is that it?!"

"Penelope, if it weren't for my money spent on promoting you, if it weren't for the resources I found for you, you would be nothing more than a bitch groveling at my feet right now!"

Lola looked utterly stunned. Once she regained her composure, she gently clung to Zackary's arm, pleading softly, "Zackary, can we help my sister, please?"

"Even if my sister really did something shameful, she is still my sister after all. Her scandal, heard by so many people, how can she live her life in the future! Zackary, can you help my sister drive this man away? I'm really afraid that he will ruin my sister's reputation and life!"

Zackary didn't pay any attention to Lola, instead he stared unblinkingly at Penelope, his thin lips unmoving. Yet, Penelope was able to understand his gaze.

He silently pressured her, his demeanor clearly saying, "Penelope, beg me!"

Penelope sneered inwardly, beg him?

Beg them humbly and cheaply as before?

What a pity, Penelope had already had enough of being a groveling bitch!

Penelope coolly withdrew her gaze from Zackary's face, ignoring the disdainful murmurs in the hall. She held her chin high and spoke to Jett word by word, "Sir, you're mistaken. I never intended to dump you."

Jett's heart leapt with joy, "Penelope, are you planning to go back with me? I just bought a lot of good stuff, unique clothes, and..."

Before Jett could finish his words, Penelope coldly interrupted him, "Sir, we have never been together, so naturally there is no question of who dumped whom!"

"Penelope, you were determined to burn your bridges today, weren't you?! Let me tell you, from the day you signed that agreement, you became my pet, Jett's pet. A pet trying to shake off its owner?! Penelope, you were dreaming!"

"Mr. Wu, right?"

Penelope didn't wait for Jett's response either. She just looked at him, smiling gently. This smile, which seemed to contain all the colors of the world, was exceptionally cold.

"Mr. Wu, here's a friendly advice for you. I suggest you look in the mirror before you speak."

"This is your idea of honor? Being kept by you? My taste isn't that bad, I'm Penelope!"

"The man I, Penelope, admired didn't need to give me a penny. I, Penelope, was still willing to share weal and woe with him, to pledge life and death! But the man I despised... ha, let alone giving me a hundred thousand a month, even if he gave me a million, ten million, I, Penelope, wouldn't even spare him a glance!"

Penelope's words were utterly merciless, causing Jett's face to inevitably turn somewhat unsightly.

Of course, the person with the worst expression in the hall was not Jett, but Kemp.

Because Kemp felt that he was the man who wanted to give Penelope ten million a month, yet she wouldn't even spare him a second glance.

Feeling upset, Kemp couldn't help but want to stir things up.

He gave a cold, mocking laugh, his warm eyes and brows, however, seemed to hold a chilling stillness.

"Penelope, the agreement for your sugar daddy was already signed, who would believe you're innocent now?! Who you're kept by is none of my business! But you stole Penny's bracelet, you must apologize to Penny!"

Kemp's gaze towards Penelope grew increasingly cold, "Otherwise, I will make sure you rot in jail!"

Sat through the bottom of the prison cell...

To say that Penelope felt nothing when she was distrusted by a good friend with whom she had once shared life and death, would be a lie.

The smile at the corner of her lips unconsciously took on a hint of helpless self-mockery.

"Yeah, it seems like none of you wanted to believe me!"

"But it was you people sitting here, none of you were willing to believe me. Still, I have to say, I, Penelope, do not steal or rob, I, Penelope, am innocent! You don't believe me, it doesn't matter. After all, the world is so big, there will always be someone willing to believe me!"

After saying this, Penelope's mood became even more depressed. Even though she had a way to prove her innocence, the fact that so many people in the hall had indiscriminately labeled her as an unclean woman made her sigh at the fickleness of human nature.

Just when she thought that the people in the hall would continue to ridicule her with sharp words, a cold yet rich and pleasant voice resonated in the air.

"I believed in you!"
