Chapter 66 She was determined to ruin Lola's reputation!
Penelope had never imagined that Lola would suddenly make such a move, she was greatly startled.
She knew, Lola was being overly dramatic again. She didn't want to play along, but Lola clung tightly to her leg, she couldn't pull away.
"Sister, I'm sorry, it was all my fault tonight. Can you forgive me? If you don't forgive me, I'll kneel here until I die! I will never get up!"
"I knew you were devastated by the loss of Ethan, and I was too. I always felt that I owed you and Ethan an apology. That's why I wanted to find someone for you to lean on, which led to what happened tonight. Sister, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have taken matters into my own hands and ended up doing more harm than good. Sister, please, can you forgive me this one time?"
"Lola, we weren't filming a TV show!"
Penelope was simply too lazy to deal with Lola, "So, you don't need to pretend to be a pure lotus in front of me!"
"Sister, I didn't! I sincerely begged for your forgiveness! Why can't you forgive me?" Lola sobbed pitifully, as if Penelope had done something unforgivable to her.
Thinking of Ethan's tragic death, Penelope really wanted to smash Lola's disgusting, hypocritical face with a kick, but in the end, she held back.
She couldn't afford to alert the snake in the grass. She needed to gather evidence to completely ruin Lola, to ensure she could never recover. That would be the true retribution!
"Sister, please, could you forgive me? I bow to you, could you forgive me, please?"
Saying this, Lola made a gesture as if to bow to Penelope.
"Lola, if you really want to apologize to Penelope, show some sincerity!" Lyman coldly spoke, smashing a wine glass in front of Lola, "Didn't you say you were going to bow to Penelope? Bow then! Bow hard!"
Lola was so annoyed that she wanted to roll her eyes. Was this a place for people to stumble?
She suddenly fell down and really disfigured her face!
"Lyman......" Lola began, her voice weak and trembling, as if she were a pear blossom bathed in rain.
"Lola, you bumped your head, why are you calling my name?!" Lyman looked into her eyes without a shred of pity, "Bump!"
Lola was truly on the verge of tears this time, but she had already spoken her words, she couldn't back out now. All she could do was stare at Zackary with immense sorrow, seeking support.
Zackary was particularly forceful this time, he suddenly reached out and pulled Lola into his arms.
He was protecting Lola like this, not because he cared about her, but because he couldn't stand Lyman standing up for Penelope.
He stared coldly at Lyman, "Lyman, you've gone too far!"
"What, she bullied Penelope and it wasn't too much, but I asked her to apologize and I'm the one who's overstepping?!" Lyman retorted, emphasizing each word.
"I didn't care who Lola bullied! All I knew was that I was Zackary's woman, and no one could bully me!"
After a pause, Zackary added, "You're no good either, Lyman!"
"Holy shit!" Lyman was so angry that he almost swore, "What the hell do you mean, Zackary?! Your woman, Zackary, can't be bullied, but my woman can be bullied by you guys?!"
His gaze slowly swept over Kemp and Lola's faces, eventually landing back on Zackary's face, "Penelope is my woman. Anyone who dares to bully Penelope, I, Lyman, will be at odds with him!"
"Your woman?" Zackary curled his thin lips, his face cold as an ice sculpture, "What a pity, her deed of sale is in my hands!"
"Even if I, Zackary, married Lola, she could only ever be my secret love in this lifetime!"
"Zackary, shut up!" Lyman swung a punch without any courtesy, but Zackary dodged it with ease. "Penelope has already divorced you! You two have no relationship now!"
"No big deal?!" Zackary's voice was cold and piercing, "Then who was the one I spent a hundred million on for the Sunlight Snow act?! A chicken?!"
Sunlight Snow...
Chicken...
Time and again, Penelope told herself not to care about Zackary anymore, but he always had a way of hurting her to the point of collapse.
Kemp, Lyman, one was a dear friend she had depended on for life and death, the other, a confidant she considered as family. She really didn't want them to know about her dirty, dark past, but Zackary just wouldn't grant her wish.
Indeed, upon hearing Zackary's words, Lyman couldn't help but exclaim, "Zackary, what did you say?!"
Zackary's gaze, sharp as a needle, was fixed on Penelope's face, "I said, I was in Sunlight Snow, and I shot a chicken! That chicken, it was my secret for a lifetime, it was my tool for warming the bed, Zackary!"
"That chicken, was called... Penelope!"
"Zackary, shut up!" Lyman swung his fist, crazily aiming for Zackary's face. This time, he didn't dodge.
He nonchalantly wiped the blood from the corner of his lips, his eyes and brows filled with cold mockery, "Lyman, a woman who's been played out, and you treat her like a treasure! I feel dirty for you!"
After saying this, Zackary scooped up Lola in his arms and left without looking back.
Until the room's door was slammed shut by him, Penelope's body was still trembling like a sieve.
She was Penelope, a chicken!
The air conditioning in the room was turned up high, but Penelope still got goosebumps all over her body. She was so cold, so cold. She rubbed her arms vigorously, but couldn't give herself any warmth.
She despised Zackary for trampling her dignity underfoot, but she had to admit that what he said was true. In Sunlight Snow, she had indeed sold herself.
The meat was generally sold out.
That clandestine contract truly existed, and she had personally signed and sealed it with her own hands.
"Hmph!" Kemp sneered, curling his lip in disdain as he walked out of the room with a cold demeanor.
Seeing that everyone had left, Gianna felt it inappropriate to continue staying there. She glanced at Penelope with worry and also quietly slipped out.
"Penelope, is it true what Zackary said?"
Lyman's words shattered the eerie calm in the room, but also left Penelope feeling even more disconcerted.
Such a disgraceful thing, she really didn't know how to bring it up, because, no matter what she said, it couldn't cover up the fact that she was shameless.
Having experienced the luxury of Sunlight Snow, she was too embarrassed to even mention Corona. Now that Lyman knew about it, how could he possibly not despise her!
In the end, she was even losing this little warmth from Lyman.
Zack, were you satisfied?
After what seemed like a century-long wait, Penelope finally spoke slowly, "Yes, everything he said is true!"
"Mr. Hilliard, I sold myself at Sunlight Snow! It was Zackary who bought me!"
